A total of 10 industry groups have signed their names to a letter addressed to Department of Tranportation Secretary Anthony Foxx requesting that CSA scores should no longer be publicly accessible until the program can be fixed.
Sent on August 22nd, the letter cites a report published by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) which sharply criticized the program, saying “assessing risk for a diverse population of motor carriers… presents several significant challenges for FMCSA. As a result, the precision and confidence of many SMS scores is limited.”
The letter also points to other specific findings in the GAO report which support the claim that CSA scores have little bearing as to a carrier’s actual crash risk. You can view the letter in its entirety here.
ATA, OOIDA, TCA, and seven other organizations all signed the letter which urges Secretary Foxx to “direct FMCSA to remove carrier’s SMS scores from public view.” Secretary Foxx did not immediately respond.

As long as DAC reports are eliminated also, then it’s a good idea.
No way they’d want DAC reports eliminated, Joe.
Carriers want to maintain their commercial black list, they’d never support anything that does away with their toys, only their liabilities.
