There is no freight moving in or out of the Port of Baltimore after one of the four area labor unions refused to work. The striking workers were quickly joined by the other three area unions, forcing a complete freeze on freight movement in and out of the port.
The strike occurred when dockworkers walked out of negotiations that had stalled between the port and the union. There have been no specific details released about the negotiations other than that it involved local issues.
The Steamship Trade Association of Baltimore and the International Longshoremen’s Association are both involved in negotiations, but only the STA is pursuing arbitration to allow their members to return to work.
A statement from the Maryland Port Administration declared that “all cargos at the Port of Baltimore’s public marine terminals are being impacted and no ships are currently being worked.”

I left the baltimore port on tue the 15th near closing time loaded and heaed for the midwest.
I would like to know more about the advantages of unionized trucking. I haven’t noticed any out west.
The advantage is “United we stand divided we fall”.
I’m sure there poll out there some where that shows the happier drivers are better paid, and home more often.
I know I haven’t met many people who drive for United Parcel Service that are Not happy with their job.
