The operations manager for a trucking company which had 15 trailers disappear initially blamed his drivers. After not being able to find any evidence, he walked back his claim.
A total of 15 trailers belonging to Houston-based Crane Freight were stolen from their lot between November and January. When questioned, operations manager Nicholas Tucker claimed that he initially thought that his drivers had made off with the $35,000 trailers.
After investigating however, there wasn’t any evidence that his drivers had taken a single one of the missing Great Dane trailers.
Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Allen told the Times-News that while the sheriff’s office was investigating the thefts, they didn’t have any additional information to release to the public.
All 15 trailers are Tennessee tagged with the following license numbers: U704608, U704619, U704675, U704673, U702008, U707393, U708880, U701482, U707399, U701895, 4528JW, 4432JW, 5103JY, 5025JW, and 4993JW.
If you have any information on the missing trailers, you can call the Sheriff’s office at (423) 272-4848.

Of course when in doubt blame a driver first…I think maybe you should ask the manager!!
Lol Does Mexico come to mind.
Have to agree with you on that one, Karen. I do believe they went South.
The company I worked lost 7 in abt 18 months. THEY got snagged/hijacked when they crossed the Fla. line, loaded with over $200,000 worth of Fresh Meats out of the Midwest. THEY went south too; got cleaned out in Miami, and left on a side street. ONE, BRAND NEW TRAILER, with a BRAND NEW REEFER UNIT probably went to Haiti on a Ship, because it was NEVER seen again. FIRST RUN OUT for that trailer. THESE Truck Hijackings, Freight Thefts HAPPEN EVERY SINGLE DAY in America. Costing US BILLIONS a year! (Insurance Rates) LOOK at the price of meats in our stores today. Now you know why. GOOGLE: stolen Semi Trucks in USA. Your lesson in economy today.
So, let me get this straight. The company wants drivers to help find trailers that other drivers were wrongfully accused of stealing?
?????
I thought I was the only one thinking that way ???
What the? Who in the? Where in the? Why in the?
Better check that manager’s bank account.
The Licence plates would have been switched followed by the Pin Box ,which is where the obvious Serial Numbers are located!
Most likely those Relatively New Trailers are being used a state or two away !
Sure they could be in Mexico or Canada or anywhere else in the World!
$525,000 loss and angry drivers beats paying a security guard $10 bucks an hour to check out equipment! Carma beaches!
*Karma
If management & the company owners actually cared about their equipment/employees – they could’ve installed technology which tracks the trailer.! Very ez, small, unobtrusive, & not rxpensive. Most work via wi-fi & the trailers, wiring. Some as small as a postage stamp.! . But most carriers cheap-out; racing to the bottom 2 be 1st in cheap rates & cheap driver pay & benefits. Just say “NO” to working for theses terrible, abusive companies. Its America, u do NOT have 2 work for these idiots.! If you do, you only have yourself 2 blame.
One piss poor manager if he can’t name where every trailer is at any moment! Do they do yard checks on trailers not seen in the system for more than 7 days???
Do they not fit tracking devices to trailers over there ?
USA Truck has a fleet of missing trailers, I think it’s so funny lol.
