A trucker spent a tense 90 minutes stuck in the cab of his truck which was dangling over the edge of a bridge, hoping first responders would get to him before the situation got any worse.
Driver William Brake was headed southbound on I-95 in Boca Raton when he found himself in an exit lane that he didn’t want to be in. Trying to correct his course, he lost control of his truck, went over the median, broke through a concrete wall, and came to a stop with his trailer half on the road, but his cab dangling over the edge of the overpass.
Brake told WSVN news that he even tried moving his mattress up into his cab to help protect him if the cab did end up falling to the ground below.
“The vehicle took the exit ramp and failed to negotiate the curve,” said Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Earl Hingson according to WSVN. “It traveled across the roadway, struck the concrete wall and compromised the wall, went over and was hanging over the side.”
It took first responders about 90 minutes to get Brake safely out of the vehicle and another few hours to get the vehicle back up onto the roadway before it could be towed away. Brake says that this was his first accident.
“I’m in a bad situation,” said Brake according to CBS12. “I’m worried about my job, I don’t know how I’m going to explain this one. It’s my first wreck ever.”

Jackass. I can’t count the extra miles i’ve driven because i was in the wrong lane or go too fast to make my turn. But here i am safe and never having crashed. Go the extra miles ladies and gentlemen.
Good Grief!!
Playing to many video games,probably.
Beginner’s luck.
It’s like seeing a four-wheeler backing up on the off-ramp after taking the wrong exit. Use your head driver!
There is always a way to get turned around and it is usually at the end of the ramp. .He just didn’t have enough close calls in his trucking experience to fall back on. glad he is ok. What a story to tell his grand kids
with a name like “Brake” he will always brake b4 total disaster.
What a maroon..
What’s a ‘maroon’?? Smh
Usually anything done in haste in a truck will most times end up badly.Just go to next exit turn around admit your mistake and go on about your day.
Ahhhhhh yes. How many times have I been in that situation where I found myself in an unfamiliar area & learn that I’m in an exit only lane. Turn signals seem to make 4-wheelers & other “courteous” truckers rush up to ensure i’m “stuck”. The only thing TO do is take the exit & do a turn around at the bottom or get back on the hwy at the next on ramp. I love my job… I just hate most of the”co-workers” I find myself surrounded by
Well said roger
I have threaten to stop until the cars let me over. Some ramps end in No-Truck land.
Run the window down too, I have had cars Notice me only after they see my arm-hand.
sure keep hitting the ramps at 75 mphs. another cowboy trying too show the rest of us how its done yeeehawww.. idiot!!!
Why in the world would anyone do this? If you miss your exit, you miss your exit. Stay in route and get back to where you need to be. Seriously!!!
Ironic that his last name is Brake.
Turn on the signal, wait 10 secinds and start easing over. No 4-wheeler ignores you when you’re moving toward them. They get mad, flip you off, honk the horn; but they move.
Beg to differ with u on that one Will. With the countless ambulance chasing lawyers & their “Stand Up To Big Trucks” billboard signs posted along the Hwys, some 4-wheelers have developed a mentality of, “if I can JUST limp away from this crash, I’m gonna get paid!” We, the driver, never know when that type of idiot is beside our truck, until it’s too late.
Sometime think BEFORE you act comes into play…glad the driver is okay though
