A drunk driver has been arrested and is now facing multiple charges after allegedly slamming his vehicle into a semi truck on purpose.
According to state police, they got a 911 call from a trucker who reported that his vehicle was struck by a Dodge Ram, that the driver had fled the scene, and that the trucker was following him down the New York Thruway to keep an eye on him until police could arrive.
Apparently the drunk driver realized he was being followed because he became aggravated and allegedly purposely slammed his Dodge Ram into the semi truck. Unsurprisingly, the Dodge truck became disabled, but neither driver was hurt.
When authorities arrived at the scene, the drunk driver’s blood alcohol content was .28 percent, over 3 times the legal limit. The man is now facing charges of aggravated DWI, second degree reckless endangerment, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

I bet there were over 50 calls about a drunk driver before they responded to the accident…
I have learned if I see a drunk driver, or am being harassed, not to call 911. 911 isn’t concerned about preventing an accident. I use my smart phone to call the Highway Patrol. They usually keep me on the phone, to let them know my exact location.
Wow I didn’t know that.
Yes I agree 911 don’t care I had to call 911, 3 times and I threatened them the last time I told them if they didn’t come get the person brake checking me for no reason, slowing down so much I tried to pass then they speed up, then slow down just to hit brakes on me. I told police I was 79800 and ground was wet next time these fools brake check me I was gonna make them a new A@# hole. They showed up that time. Because I said I wasn’t gonna hit my brakes next time they brake checked me. I had to deal with that fool for an hour until 3police cars showed up. He had death wish.
You should have just slowed down
Go to Jail.
Do not Pass Go.
Go Directly to Jail.
LOL!!! Gotta love it!
Sad part is the trucker is now punished as well since he has been involved in an accident. CSA does not care if your in the wrong just that you and your truck was involved.
My Wife and myself was hauling a load Thur ND , when I came up on a pickup coming down a get on ramp but couldn’t get over because of other traffic in left lane . So I slowed down to let the pickup out and he gave me the #1 signal ! And once he came out in front of me , he slammed on his brakes several times trying to get me to hit him so I backed way off the fuel , all the way to sometimes below 35 mph , just to have him slow down more and if I tried to get in left lane he would get over in front of me several times , so on the next exit , I got off and called 911 and told them what was going on , they told me to stay there and an officer was only app 10 minutes away and would meet me there ! I sat there for app 35 minutes and the officer never showed up , so I got back on the freeway again and was confronted by this same driver a few minutes later ! Apparently he was waiting on the next get on ramp for us but I didn’t see him , until he passed us and immediately got in front of again only to try to get us to hit him again , so we called 911 again as was only told that the driver had called and told them that I cut him off , when he was trying to get on the freeway and was trying to run him over, so I told them to send officer to where I was and he would see what was going on !
When officer caught up with us , i was only running 30 mph , the officer turned his lights n siren on and I pulled us over and was met again with only another officer coming across comedian strip facing us and we were told to put our hands up and come out of the truck , one at a time ! Only to be treated like criminals !
We finally got to tell our story and cut loose , but my wife had got the license plate number of the pickup and we later found out that a small town officer had chased this pickup for running people off the road and had wrecked , his blood acohol level was 3 times the normal legal level
So I don’t call 911 anymore
Police – or frankly government officials of any kind – are not your friends. Seriously, how long does a person have to live in this country in order to learn that? It’s not about race, either. It’s about power. Race just gets the headlines…
I think they are just overwhelmed imagine all the morons calling everytime someone doesnt get their order right at McDonalds
Dialing 911 in my part of the world, Western Canada, connects you to an operator who connects me with the Police if needed or takes the information needed for Fire or Ambulance personal and dispatches them separately. Once I tell the operator I need the police, I am asked where I am and they connect me to the appropriate detachment of the RCMP and I proceed to explain my emergency. I have had several run-ins with mildly retarded (not developmentally disabled… retarded) drivers who do things similar to what Bo described, and once police are notified and I give them a plate number and explain that I am driving a semi… they take swift action to “get their man.” They are 100x more determined to get suspected drunk drivers off the highways and to date I have called in over 150 drunk people in the past 4 years which have led to 128 arrests and 123 convictions for DUI… some of them were called in nearly 50 miles from the nearest detachment on empty mountain highways. In 2 cases I called the driver in, they drove so fast I lost sight of them quickly, then had to call from fire and ambulance because I later came across them wrecked badly on the highway. I know of the arrests and convictions because the RCMP are very nice about following up with me when I ask them to keep me informed. I have received calls from the Constables (officers) that have stoped and made the arrests right after they have cuffed and stuffed the drunken idiots into the back of their cruisers, and I have called the officers back at later dates to follow up on if a conviction was achieved. I have never once had to appear in court because the RCMP are very thourough about collecting evidence in DUI cases. Proud of my part in helping keep people alive… even the dumbass drunk ones. Happy with the response from the police in my area
