A group of would-be cargo thieves walked away empty-handed after a series of boneheaded moves saw them repeatedly try to steal an empty trailer.
It started in Houston, TX when an unnamed trucker finished his run delivering fruit to a grocery supply company. When he returned to his truck, a group of men approached him and ordered him to unhook his trailer. The trucker refused and when police arrived, the men scattered.
According to police however, that wasn’t the end of it. The men followed the trucker in two cars for nearly an hour before they pulled up alongside the truck and opened fire. Three of the truck’s tires were shot out and others had bullets in them, but amazingly the driver was able to maintain control of his truck and got off the highway.
When he pulled over however, he saw the men exit their cars and start toward him. The driver ran across the busy street into a Walmart nearby where witnesses called 911.
The Conroe Patch reports that the would-be thieves were driving a white Audi and possibly a dark colored Pontiac Grand Prix, but authorities don’t have any suspects.

sissy driver, you start shooting at my truck, I’m gonna show you how much damage an 18 wheeler can do.
My thoughts exactly. I’ve always said that if someone pulls alongside my truck & opens fire on me, then YOU… The shooter… Better hope you get me on the 1st shot. If not, your vehicle will become your makeshift coffin
I agree! Point a gun at me and you ain’t getting away!
@Danny, until you walk in another’s shoes making a comment like that is foolish. Hindsight is always 20/20 – it maybe easy to think you’d follow a different course of action – but until it happens to YOU, with the same issues that the driver faced in the moment, you should refrain from calling someone a sissy driver.
The only thing your thoughtless comment confirms is that you are a “silly driver”.
Those would be thieves should consider themselves fortunate to be alive after a stunt like that. The driver could have easily crushed those 4 wheelers into a pile of mangled steel and human body parts. Or he could’ve taken them out with his own protection, loading them full of lead.
They were told they guy had a load of dispatcher brains! Thought it would make them smarter! Lmao. Stupid people! I swear!
I want to know how they planned on pulling that trailer without a truck?
Yep roger and danny I would definitely go for a homicide wrap instead of running to a Walmart. Here’s your sign.
if someone starts shooting at my truck I’ll shoot back.
They certainly didn’t know how to see an empty trailer from a loaded one, they wold be bset to gI’ve up thieving!!…least the driver didn’t get hurt…give him credit for that…
