Three men in the Kansas City area have just been found guilty on conspiracy charges for their roles in stealing five trucks and 17 trailers as well as the cargo contained within.
Jon Dirk Dickerson, 56, was the owner of the trucking company who would purchase stolen trucks and trailers for use in his own fleet. With help from his son, 31-year-old Kyle Dickerson, he scrapped some for parts, and changed the VIN information on others so that he could use them to haul legitimate loads for customers.
Though authorities were not aware that the vehicles were stolen, the company was issued a total of $450,000 in fines and multiple out-of-service orders because the Dickersons did not properly maintain their vehicles, knowing that if one broke down, they could always buy a new stolen vehicle for less than it would cost to keep an old one in working order. Any time they needed to close down one company, they would get new operating authority by reopening under a new name.
The Dickersons purchased the stolen trucks from Kenneth Borders, 43, who would steal trucks and trailers and offer their cargo to shady merchants who would buy the products for pennies on the dollar. The cargo ranged from pallets of beer, to meat, to Nike shoes.
Also convicted on charges relating to the conspiracy were Jaccard Fears, Roy Parvin, Christopher Turner, and Michael Foster all of Kansas City. Fears worked for the Dickersons and would remove decals, logos, and other identifying information from stolen trucks. The other three were merchants who received stolen goods. Turner alone admitted to receiving approximately $386,932 worth of stolen meat.
The Dickersons and Kenneth Borders have all been charged with various additional crimes relating to the conspiracy. Borders could receive up to 65 years in prison without parole and a fine of up to $1.75 million. Both Dickersons could receive sentences of up to 45 years without parole, and separate fines of up to $1.25 million each.

I always thought it smelled funy in Kansas city. Little did I realize it actually smelled hilarious. The people that do this, do they also have thick bone ridges in their foreheads and one eyebrow apiece? Is it possible their link is calling because they are missing from it? At what point in this cunning plan do they not understand it isnt going to work? Its bad guys like that that give bad guys a bad name.
A-holes like this don’t know how hard it is to get 1 truck, and be lagett. I just want to get 1 tractor, so I can give my wife a good life, and start a college fund for my grandsons, and be a better man of God.
1st you need to call OOIDA & get info on buying a truck, 2nd know the pro’s & con’s of purchasing a vehicle, what type of operation, will you lease or acquire your own authority
GOOD Deal ! they need life ! for this crap they done, or send all of them to N. Korea! to little Kim’!!
what is a lagett? is it contagious?
Well, at least they got caught. I wonder how many get away with it.
Yep, guys like this make us all look bad. I remember when i had an older truck which was my own, i kept it clean and well maintained, and was always checked out by dot thinking i stole it. but i put up with it and was glad they checked for this stuff.
Just to think there are some who get away with this stuff. just think…. where and how did they get titles of ownership, paper work, etc. to run them????? this story isnt over. how many others did they steal over time?
it is VERY contagious!
lagett (n) lah-jet – A state of being where, as in the case of truckers, no-one, not your boss, not the government, not your “significant other/life partner” believes you are, and treats you the same.
