If you were a fan of wrestling at any point in the past two decades, you’ve probably heard of “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. He wrestled the WWE, the WWF, and World Championship Wrestling, winning titles and growing an avid fan base who couldn’t get enough of his signature weapon the 2×4, his patriotic American attitude, and his signature “Hoooo!” battle cry (not to mention his signature U-S-A Chant that ALWAYS got the crowd going).
Nowadays, he’s out of the ring, but still involved with wrestling and championing America. The WWE Hall-of-Famer has even recorded a message for the “life-blood of America,” the American Trucker. You can see it here or read the transcript below.
“Hooooo! Hey folks, I’m WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, and for over 30 years, I’ve been carrying a 2×4, and the flag of the United States of America! And when I think of America, I think of the life-blood of America! And that life-blood is the men out there in them 18-wheelers going from coast to coast bringing us our goods – bringing us what I need! And so when you’re out there saying ‘God bless the troops’ – which “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan stands behind the troops – remember look over this way and say ‘God bless the truckers tough guy!’ “
I always adored Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The fact that he respects truckers just makes me like him even more! Thanks
I guess he doesn’t know that there is a lot of Lady truckers out here!!! God bless all the women truckers!!!
Amen!
I was going to say something similar, Donna. I’m proud of my career as a lady trucker.
I wish he was a lobbyist for trucking instead of the traitor Bill Graves and the ATA. A patriotic lobbyist would get good fees for truckers that sit at docks more than 2 hours and not try to make anymore rules backed with false data in the name of safety.
Anyone else remember his Memphis wrestling days?
I remember him getting arrested for speeding on the Long Island Expressway with the Iron Sheikh and a whole bunch of cocaine in the car. Ahhh the good old days.
Thanks Hacksaw
And you were in the back seat.
