A company you’ve probably never heard of, Altegrity Inc, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Amongst its holdings however is a company that you’ve almost certainly heard of – HireRight, the background check company that publishes DAC reports.
HireRight, HireRight Technologies Group, HireRight Solutions, and HireRight Records Services, are just a few of the 39 debtors that Altegrity names in its bankruptcy petition. As a result of this, drivers who have had background checks run on them by HireRight may be receiving written notification of Altegrity’s Bankruptcy filing.
According to the press release issued by the company, Altegrity currently has approximately $1.75 BILLION dollars in debt. However, according to the publicly available documents concerning the proceedings, the claims issued by creditors total over a whopping $3.6 Billion.
Despite the unfathomable debt that Altegrity seems to be drowning under, the company expects that “operations at HireRight… will continue without interruption throughout the process.”

What goes around comes around I’m happy to see they’re finally getting what they deserve
the world will be a better place when this company disappears.
I got my notice in the mail last week of the bankruptcy proceedings.
I quickly responded because of wrongful reporting. Done by them.
I will never see a penny.
But the world will be better for a time without them but they will either reorganize or another firm will take over.
As owner of a small company we need to stand together
Dream on right?

So with a couple of companies that shoudl easily have low overhead they amassed billions in debt lol wall street morons didnt learn basic economics from high school, if profit doesnt pay for debt agreements you dont go out and make more debt. It should be a debt free company as their main expense would be r&d for risk management company knoll. First time I have seen a President / CFO title combo lol … yes it would be amazing for HireRight to be shutdown and all the “information” within to just float away. No dac issues here but there have been some slimey companies that wrong screwed drivers or left them no option but to abandon a truck ( had a close friend call me and as for a ride bc he put in his two weeks a month prior and they kept him no closer than 1000 miles from their only terminal and actually stopped paying him … it was settled out of court but still fighting with HireRight to remove it from his DAC )
Wow, that’s terrible. I wasn’t aware a situation like that could happen with this system (with 2 weeks notice and stopped being paid), and the driver still gets screwed!
Hey, lobbying congress (buying laws) is expensive.
what I found interesting is that on one job that I worked for, they had gotten my previous W-2 and last three paychecks for my previous company. I thought that was very interesting because what I was making at my previous company is none of their business.
Plus, I was also puzzled that they could even get that information to begin with.
Just a dispatchers social network. They do nothing but file complaints from your last job, so the next employer wont hire you. This company is just another form of hatred towards truck drivers. My question is, who floated them for that long? Those people have serious hate issues.
Good riddance. Hope they never come back in the present form …….
I got mine too. They are a fraud anyhow and don’t make it easy to get DAC.
Hire right will disqualify you from being hired if you don’t have a high enough credit score so I think they should be shut down for going so far in debt. How many jobs have they cost truckers who had hard times?
Miracles do happen; good bye and good riddence, and may those that consider a resurrgence choke on their efforts.
So what do I do now, who and where do I get a Dac report, who’s to say that the next can be trusted, is there a classaction for those of us who did use Hireright.
I hope DAC reports are fully eliminated…I have a good record…but they have done some drivers in through their no company can say anything wrong attitude, and the driver is at fault…I mean c’mon…let a company find out if the driver is any good through their own system of checks and balances, not having some empire reporting system do it for them
I had a dac report that statedi had worked for two different companies at the same time..also when i sent in rebuttals to company comments they were edited to nosenseical sentences..bye bye dac!!
A year ago, I received a Bankruptcy filing notice postcard regarding this web of companies identifying me as a creditor… Knowing that I had no actionable claim against them, I tossed the notice. Today, I got clarification in the mail. I had been identified from DAC’s records as a member of the “victim class” in a class action lawsuit and, as a member of that “class” became a de-facto creditor. Apparently, Alltegrity/USIS/ HireRight/DAC Filed for re-organzation Bankruptcy (Ch 11) in anticipation of losing this lawsuit and wanted to put a cap on their payout…. A year later, I’m notified of my “membership” and told I can submit paperwork (or an affidavit) to claim my share of a $460,000 settlement pool, but not over $200…Any leftover funds in the settlement pool will be donated to the National Endowment for Financial Education (I’m not making this up, I swear!) The two original plaintiffs will receive under $10k each, and the lawyers will be paid about $715k…… This settlement is included in the bankruptcy, but if I wanted to pursue my own case, the liability has been discharged by the bankruptcy…..This is in addition to a huge fine paid to the FTC….. This case is being settled before trial, but within the cofines of the bankruptcy and allows all these companies to keep doing business as usual, should they choose to be that reckless!
