Two major truck manufacturers, Mack Trucks and Navistar, have issued recalls on their vehicles. Mack Trucks is recalling 44,047 trucks because of potentially defective hazard lights while Navistar’s 300 recalled trucks may have issues with their air disk brake calipers.
Mack says that failure of the Hamsar Electronic Flasher lights that they use could result in reduced visibility of the truck. They plan to replace the flashers free of charge starting in mid-June.
The Mack Trucks models that may be affected are:
- 2010-2014 Mack CHU series
- 2007 Mack CT series
- 2007 Mack CV series
- 2010-2014 Mack CXU series
- 2008-2014 Mack GU series
- 2011-2014 Mack LEU series
- 2010-2014 Mack MRU series
- 2011-2014 Mack TD series
The air disk brake calipers in certain Navistar trucks may have loose or missing bolts that could result in pulling while braking or an increased stopping distance. Navistar will be notifying truck owners and replacing faulty or missing bolts free of charge starting at the end of May.
The Navistar models that may be affected are:
- 2013-2015 International DuraStar
- 2014-2015 International ProStar
- 2014-2015 International TransStar
- 2013-2015 WorkStar
