The manufacturer for Kenworth and Peterbilt Trucks, Paccar Inc., has issued a recall on over 100,000 vehicles for a variety of issues.
Paccar is issuing three different recalls, but the vast majority are the more than 100,000 Kenworth trucks that may have a faulty casing on the windshield wiper motor which could allow water to leak in and cause the wipers to stop working. The water could also cause corrosion which could result in an electrical short.
A mix of approximately 1,500 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks equipped with Paccar MX-13 Engines and Delco-Remy 40SI alternators have charge cables that may chafe against a formed metal freon discharge line, which could cause an electrical short resulting in a fire.
Finally, the most severe issue affects thankfully the fewest vehicles. Approximately 49 Kenworth trucks have an issue where they did not undergo the rear wheel mounting torque verification process. This could cause the rear wheels to become loose and come off the truck.
Paccar notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the recalls and will be reaching out to the owners of affected vehicles.

They should not hold the driver/Owners liable for these issues but you know they will try anyway
Really? What about the engine manufacturers issues with the cr
@ppy broken motors that new trucks come out with? Seems like they are ignoring all the people that they snapped it off in when it comes to a whole lot of money for nothing. Maybe they can smile and nod knowingly and that will fix it.
I agree, Cummins for instance with improper installed liners! Giving out before the truck gets to hardly break in. Costing the Owner/Operator in the 10’s of thousands of dollars!! We need to get together and make sure these companies take full responsibility for there faulty equipment!
