A North American chemical industry supply chain leader recently gobbled up five fleet operations en route to earning four safety and service awards. To say Quantix is making freight transportation waves would be something of an understatement.
“Quantix continues to scale our services in Texas and the Gulf Coast regions, and these new assets strengthen our ability to do so,” Chris Ball, Chief Executive Officer and President at Quantix, reportedly said. “Greater capacity means better service for our customers, which remains the guiding purpose of our continued growth.’
The fleet operations the Texas-based outfitted acquired include Dobbins Enterprises, C&S Express, Chancelor Transportation, T&K Chancelor Enterprises, and Templet Transit. Quantix reportedly onboarded personnel while adding upwards of 140 trucks and ancillary equipment to the company’s liquid and plastics division. The newly acquired trucks are expected to expand service in and around Houston, TX, and Port Allen and Baton Rouge, LA, as well as Meridian, MS. In October, Quantix bought G&W Tanks, its eighth acquisition since 2019.
The fast-growing chemical transportation outfit was also honored by Dow industries ahead of Thanksgiving. The awards included Dow’s Gold Safety Award, S4TAR Award, and Above and Beyond Award. Quantix’s third-party logistics division received the Silver Safety Award.
“Dow takes safety very seriously, and we look to work with carriers who prioritize it in the same way we do,” Lori Pavlish, senior transportation safety and security manager at Dow, reportedly said. “That includes adhering to stringent industry standards such as the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care initiative. Dow and our partners have set the bar high for safety excellence and rewarding our carriers for their work in this regard is equally important to us and them.”
This marked the second consecutive year that Quantix received the Gold Safety Award. The award typically goes to an operation that experienced “no serious, moderate, or minor carrier-caused transportation incidents from July 2021 to July 2022. The Silver Safety Award means the carriers provided by 3PL Solutions had no serious or moderate incidents, and no more than one carrier-caused minor incident,” according to a press release.
The S4TAR award indicates leadership in safety, sustainability, social responsibility, and service. Quantix announced a sustainability initiative that includes converting 25 percent of its last-mile and drayage fleet to renewable energy sources by 2030.
“Our teams work hard every day to ensure safety is at the forefront of all business activities,” David Perry, president of the liquid division at Quantix, reportedly said. “We appreciate that Dow takes the time to recognize carriers for the importance of safety and are proud to be the recipient of four of its awards this year.”
