Police apprehended the driver of a stolen tanker truck after an odd slow-speed chase during which the fleeing driver drove erratically, but stopped at every red light.
The tanker was reported stolen on Sunday from a fleet yard in Paramount, CA and the truck’s owner was able to monitor its location via GPS. Sheriff’s deputies located the tanker about an hour later and a slow-speed chase began which ended after about five minutes.
Deputies following the truck noted that the driver stopped at all red lights, but wouldn’t pull over for them until he finally exited the vehicle and surrendered without incident. According to Lt. Vanderhort of the LA County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect was charged with felony evading and grand theft auto.

Probably another al qaeda wannabe who had minimal driving skills to start with. Maybe he should have just applied at Fedex? All kidding aside, stealing a petroleum hauler is useless from the start, because it takes cards, codes, and account numbers to access loading facilities and actually load anything. Also it is illegal to park a loaded truck overnight, for obvious reasons.
At least he won’t get cited for traffic violations.

He does practice good driving habits. Why is it that none of these hammerheads didn’t try to disable the truck when it stopped for the lights?
