Police are looking for a trucker who stabbed two fellow drivers on the side of the road in California. The stabbings are thought to have been the result of a road rage incident.
According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Salas, the incident occurred at around 7:30am this past Wednesday. An unnamed flatbed driver had stopped on southbound Highway 99 in Fresno. The driver told police that he had stopped to check on his load.
The suspect pulled up behind the parked flatbed in his own truck, got out, and confronted the man. Authorities didn’t give more details as to what the argument was about, but it escalated to physical violence.
Just then, the brother of the flatbed driver who was hauling his own load pulled up behind the suspect’s vehicle. When he got out of his truck, the suspect allegedly pulled a knife and began stabbing the two men.
An off-duty Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy happened to be driving by. The deputy pulled over and broke up the fight.
“During the incident, the deputy had no idea who were the true victims because it was chaotic with a lot of finger-pointing,” said a Sheriff’s office spokesperson according to the Fresno Bee.
In the confusion, the suspect got back into his truck and drove away.
Both brothers were transported to the local hospital with multiple knife wounds. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The suspect was described as being in his 40s with short hair. His truck is around a model year 2015 white Freightliner hauling a white trailer. Anyone with information is being asked to contact California Highway Patrol at (559) 262-0400.
Sheriff John says
Not surprised…typical.
Scott says
And the off Duty officer or victims couldn’t get one set of numbers off the truck?

If this story is accurate, good luck finding a white Frtliner & white trailer, geez.
When the guy is driving away, wouldn’t you at least get some info before he’s gone, like name of co. plate # etc.
This could be something as simple as one driver not get out of the # 3 lane to let faster trucks pass, but if it’s Hwy 99, there’s only 2 lanes for most of it, I believe.
I live close to the 10 frwy around the dreaded Banning scales, and I see drivers constantly “parking” themselves in the #3 lane, causing some drivers to get frustrated enough to use the #2 lane to get by.

Truckers are behaving like savages!
Drivers now seem to hate everyone and everything. The real problem is that most drivers don’t take their profession seriously. It shows equipment, their behavior and their dress code. Pumping diesel fuel while wearing flip flops is unacceptable! COME ON GUYS!

Maybe the saying you get what you pay for applies here?

Why is everyone so angry? Love ye one another! However, before you can love others, you must first learn to love yourself.
Shawn gherity says
That really narrows the suspect pool…a white late model freightliner pylling a white trailer😊. Thats a rare combination
Frank says
The CHP just let the guy drive away with out any information about who he was or no plate number. Sounds like the cop wasn’t doing his job.
Chuck says
Apparently you don’t read very well or do not retain information. He was a off duty sheriff. Please learn to read and retain before you comment. Must be a new driver. IT SHOWS.
jo says
and thats all you got out of this?? no wonder they are pushing driverless trk,s
Steve says
So two guys were stabbed and bleeding, one was not.
The off duty deputy could not figure this out? The guy then slipped away in a tractor trailer unnoticed?
Somthing is not right with this story?
Clark blasdel says
Steve that was my thought also…why did the officer let the suspect leave the scene of stabbing crime? Something evedently was left out of the report!
Brian Bear Mcgee says
Lmao! I was def thinking those exact things.
Terry Barron says
A White Truck and white trailer! They should have no problems finding it! 😂
Joe says
It must have been those New Wave drivers

What if everyone who sees a truck and driver, fitting that description calls the number.he wasn’t taught to look for license plates and names and dot numbers and stuff?county Mounties and city cops don’t know a lot about trucking and could all use an update on their knowledge of trucking as evidenced by this video: “Livingston parish officer being ridiculous” on YouTube to see how knowledgeable the parish cops in Louisiana are. There are two parts to the video, you have to scroll down to find part one.it is ridiculous!

Don’t cop cars have cameras? Doesn’t sound right letting the guy go after he stabbed two men. We need the full story. I bet the white freight runs that highway alot. Produce hauler. Maybe he didn’t speak English much. South of the border slang.
Sara says
Only good thing about that cop if he pulls you over he might forget to take your info and let you go.
Sara says
Two drivers let one guy stab them and they don’t beat the hell out of him. At least tackle his ass. Forget about the cops he’s off duty. Defend yourselves.
