National average diesel fuel prices slid for a sixth straight week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, ending at $2.748 per average gallon. A decrease of 2.4 cents from last week.
Most all area saw a more than 2 cent per gallon decrease, with the West Coast region experiencing the greatest drop of 2.9 cents. That brought the area’s diesel to $2.855. California diesel prices averaged $2.915, a dip of 2.7 cents, still up 62.3 cents from the same week last year
Gulf Coast regional prices averaged the lowest at $2.699, with the Lower Atlantic and Midwest next lowest at $2.717 and $2.720 each. Central Atlantic and New England regions were near the top prices, however, at $2.868 and $2.870, respectively. New England diesel averages dropped the least, only down $0.004 from last week.
The Rocky Mountain region held the middle at $2.783.
