A trucker was shot and killed last Friday during a road rage incident. Eduardo Munoz, a father and grandfather, was just minutes away from home after a week on the road.
Law enforcement officials have charged Anthony Tillmon, a local tow truck operator, with first-degree murder.
According to authorities, Munoz and Tillmon were both headed east on I-88 near mile marker 138 during the afternoon rush hour. Witnesses reported seeing both men driving aggressively and waving their arms at each other. That’s when Tillmon allegedly pointed his gun at Munoz’s truck and opened fire, hitting him three times.
Despite his wounds and the heavy traffic, Munoz was able to pull his truck to the side of the road safely before calling 911. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Authorities were able to gather information on the shooting quickly thanks in part to motorists who pulled over and stuck around to offer eyewitness accounts. Still others called in their tips to the police. Police used those reports to pull up video of the tollway during the incident, leading them to name Tillmon as a suspect.
Authorities later found a 9 mm shell casing and a green jacket which matched eyewitness accounts of the shooter in Tillmon’s tow truck.
On Tuesday, Tillmon turned himself in to authorities and is being held on a $3 million bond. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Mark A Berry says
Wow stupidity is all that is, tow truck driver should get life.
Trucka T says
This sickens me to my core.
Road rage in general is never a good thing, but these shootings are pointless. Two lives lost in the blink of an eye. Over someone losing their cool. May the Lord be with the family
RaginBull69 says
What a POS that tow truck driver is……. i hope he has a rough time in Prison for the rest of his life, that will make him think about his regrets of ever carrying a gun in his truck. He lost his rights to ever owning another gun.
Robert Heinz says
Yes, the worst part of this whole thing is that this poor guy lost his right to ever own another gun.
Bee says
Carrying a gun wasn’t the problem. A lot of truckers do! Testosterone overload was the issue, to put it mildly. One live lost and the other ruined, for what? I pray for the families that are the ones suffering!

Life…
JEREMY HERRING says
I noticed that the article doesn’t mention that this occurred in Chicago where gun ownership is basically illegal anyways…
Averageworkingjoe says
Good post Jeremy. It seems the stricter the gun control laws are, the
more gun violence there is.
Rich says
Didn’t happen in Chicago.. It happened in DuPage County.. Rt83 & I88.. Oakbrook to be exact..
Frank says
Uh….there were 2 supposedly grown men involved here not just the tow truck driver….
Bee says
True!

Traffic was moving fine. There was no reason for any of that nonsense. That moron cost me 3 extra hours that day.
Ron says
Thanks to the people who took time out to be witness for the police. The people who witnessed the guy running a red light into my by truck in 2005 in Ohio, the police politely told them “We’re not interested”. Those witnesses statements would have cleared me. The police only wanted witness statements on the report that THEY wanted. It’s called a “cover up” by the police to hide the other driver’s neglect in killing his passenger. It’s called playing politics at a traffic accident scene.
Eddie tyler says
Wow what is the world coming two .when a argument turns to murder and yes driving can be tiresome and stressful but take time out before you do something to ruin your life or someone else’s pull over and regroup
Robert says
Yeah like a mandatory 30 minute break.
Sad its come to this! says
The part that is scary for everyone is that a person cant tell the difference between giving a middle finger versus actually killing someone that you have an altercation with!
Imagine the driver struck with bullets wasn’t able to pull over and plowed into traffic with a run away truck? All because another driver thought he should be dead for his actions?
Society has gone mad and the only way to stop this is by discouraging it in the only way that these animals will understand!
Hang him publicly just after the trial! Has to be this way! People are out of control!
Gus says
Looks like nobody is waiting for them at home..SAD!!!!!!
