For a second I thought I saw
A great big flying eagle fall
Then it spread its wings and flew away
To soar again some other day
With that eagle in my mind
I turn my thoughts to this drive
The morning mist is settling down
Once again I’m highway bound
For in this cab I’m free to roam
On the road this is my home
Free like an eagle I strive to be
I smile again caus’ it’s good to be me
Songs on the radio as I drive on
Sing about the times gone by
And once again high in the sky
I see a big bald eagle fly
Sixteen years I’ve been right here
Rested my hands on this rig’s wheel
Watched the line, hauled the load
Driven down this blacktop road
For in this cab I’m free to roam
On the road this is my home
Free like an eagle I strive to be
I smile again caus’ it’s good to be me
