Young Soldier Rides Again.
It’s the third of July with the moon in the
sky when Young Soldier hits the highway,
traffic gets heavy as he passes “the loop”, so his red 9 jumps on Chi-town’s skyway.
Soldier tips back his ‘Joe’, pulls on a Mar’boro, and sings out loud with ‘Bama on the stereo:
“I’m in a hurry to get things done,
oh I rush and rush until life’s no fun…”
The dashboard glows bright on a starless night, next stop—Kokomo.
“…All I gotta do is live and die,
I’m in a hurry and don’t know why.”
He cruise’s south on I-65 big cat purring under the hood; both pups loaded high & tight, truckn’ is just too damn good.
Soldier steps down from the cab yawns, stretches, and bends; then turns around and does it again…
