NEWTEC states: “Training covers both classroom and hands on driving of a semi truck and trailer. After completing three nights of classroom training to prepare you for the written test, you must pass the written test to obtain your driving permit. Then you will schedule your 20 hours of one-on-one driving training with the instructor. After successful completion of driving you can then take the Class A CDL test.”
