Northern Industrial Training accepts the Alaska Student Loan (for programs 6 weeks in length or longer), Native Corporation and Village Council funding and scholarships, State of Alaska programs (WIA and DVR) and Department of Veteran Affairs. We have a Tuition Payment Plan offered through NIT that students can apply for.

NIT states: “We do not have “job placement assistance” officially, but because of our reputation here in Alaska, many companies from Trucking, to Oil and Gas contact us almost daily looking to hire our graduates. We hold employer board meetings where the employers come to our school and meet and greet our students. This happens for most of our longer courses.”

NIT states: “Our “Ultimate Driver” program is an in-depth driver training program developed for the career truck driver that allows students students to learn advanced driving techniques. Graduates who successfully complete the course will receive or be awarded the following certifications or certificates: Entry Level Driver Qualification, OSHA Forklift Safety, NSTC w/H2S, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, ATSSA Traffic Control Flagging, First Aid / CPR / AED, NIT certificate of completion, State of Alaska Commercial Drivers License” “NIT has a Veterans Outreach Program and has programs designed specifically for Transitioning Service Members. NIT also conducts a 3 week PTD course on JBER for soldiers who are still on active duty and are planning on getting out of the military within the next year or two.”
