Watkins & Shepard - Yesterday and Today

You have to talk to the broker youself as a company driver?

 

I see my long post didn't get deleted after all...

Well the office does the money and stuff talk of course...but you basicly just have to call the broker to say you'll pick it up...say when you'll be there even though the qualcomm gives you the time...basicly just starting the first contact...incase something happens...because the more harder brokers...they normally want a call when ya get to the shipper...when ya leavin the shipper...when ya get to the consignee...and when ya empty...and the worrrst one ever was I had a broker load that was for a few pick ups...they wanted a phone call for everything...plus paper work numbers and seal numbers...so when I see I get a broker load...I normally say my day is "blank" up...but most brokers are cool...oh and another reason why I hate brokers is because they normally just treat you bad on the phone or in general because they don't know you...and what's the chances you deal with them again?...so they normally don't care about how bad or how many miles you ran last...they want their stuff moved...and also alot of times you don't know they brokers company...so you'll go to pick up saying "I'm here for Watkins Shepard"...and they look at you like your stupid and say..."It's nothing here for you"...then you have to explain where ya going exactly...and that it's a broker load and all that...but most of the time the pickup number kills all that drama...but sometimes you don't get a pickup number...

And yea I have a wonderful boxer...he's very protective...ask S2B...doesn't my dog keep his eyes on whatever is infront of him?...but anyway...Watkins is fun to drive for...Don't think I would be OTR if I didn't have a few friends to look forward to meeting at terminals and hanging out...because being out by yaself or wit people you can't relate to is kinda boring...

 

pretty much comes down to disp will do what they can to keep u moving.

and about the spelling and proper words? im sorry, i thought i left school a few years ago. if uv got a problem with words and spelling, you should prob just stay completly away from this entire webpage... many of drivers out here are old school drivers, who didnt need to no how to read or write when they first got their cdl, it wasnt till the cdl was brought around when you needed to no how to do both.
and ull also learn to abrv <~~not sure of spelling, cause ull do a lot of it on the qc.

minus;s dog, he is very protevtive, and if u come up to his truck, that dog will not take his eyes off of you at all!, but ill give minus this much, thats gotta be the best trained dog, pet him, throw him a balll, and even scream his name and he just sits there, minius tell him to do something... kinda the same respons. its gotta be kinda tricky with a handicap dog. can u use the handicap parking spaces at truck stops? cause the guys that tho the plack in the window sometimes clearly dont need to be pared there as they jump outa thier truck...

 

Lol...my dog listens to me...he just acts like a statue when other people come around cause he's in the truck all day...but yea on the qualcomm...it a take a little while to understand what they mean...they a say something like this...

That was kinda easy...but when your new and worried about being on time...making it someonewhere safe...trying to park your truck safe...making sure your doing the paper work right...when you read crap like that...sometimes it's hard til you get use to it...sometimes I still call dispatch just to ask them what they want me to do...because each letter/character sent over the qualcomm cost the company money...so they try to save money by the short spelling of words...so let's not try to clown on my man S2B...it's Soon 2 Be Trucking...not Soon 2 Be A Doctor...so no need to worry...he's cool...
