They still allow truck parking for shopping. But overnight parking is not allowed. The security will be by a few minutes after the mall closes to remind you of that policy. There may be an exception if you are saying in the new hotel they built on the north side of the mall. But I'm not sure.

The Somali population in the Minneapolis area has contributed to the parking problem there as well .
-
How exactly does a increase in the Somali population contribute to lack of parking? Do they somehow take up more space than everyone else?Just passing by and Opus Thank this.

169 of Canterbury Rd exit I have seen trucks at the McDonald's parking lot. There are several hotels there for truckers and also a restaurant named Muddy Cow there as well. Most of that area near this exit is industrial sites with big businesses like Amazon and others so there are places you can park your truck overnight. Safe neighborhood as well, I live in Shakopee near 169 hope this helps.

There is parking issues in almost all major us cities due to regulations and poor infustracture. Don't believe the Somali population in Minneapolis has anything to do with the lack of parking. Minneapolis area has always had poor roads and lack of space for normal commuters let alone semi trucks and trailers.street beater and Just passing by Thank this.
