I didn't like them, they weighed a little bit more, at least a couple hundred pounds more than the fixed axles, but they needed them for trips into Canada I guess.PoleCrusher, FerrissWheel and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I usually keep my spreads closed unless I need them open for weight. I've noticed that leaving them spread makes the wipng action of the tires much worse, and also puts a lot of extra strain on the trailer hardware, too.
I know a lot of drivers leave them spread all the time. I've spent far too much time closing spreads that seem to not have been closed in years.
