80k absentee owner per truck 2020?

These folks who come on here with these big money dreams are dime a dozen

 

A once in a lifetime chance to get my very own toll bridge, tell me more.

 

We have car haulers here who are talking about how load rates are low. Think about that.


Also in my time in the business world I have come across too good to be true deals being struck to later the new owner going under because the customer base pulled out.

What I mean is this. The clients he’s servicing are they under contract? If yes then what are the termination clause details of said contracts? If no then how sure are you the client will stay with you as the new owner? In this industry the guy giving him the loads could be his buddy meaning he sells you the business buys a new rig and takes his client away from you on a few months.


Either way no one that I know would sell a golden goose if the yearly income is 90k per truck, they would expand big time.


It just sounds very too good to be true.

 

So your thinking you buy this truck and after all expenses associated with the business including paying your driver, you still pocket $80-90k a year off this one truck?

Am I understanding this correctly?

 

I would let it go, you're only buying a used truck and trailer, do your due diligence, used truck will always be around.

 

If my son came to me with an "opportunity" like this I'd smack him upside his head. There is no part of this deal that sounds legitimate.

You should check his USDOT and MC #s from fmcsa website and do a little research.
