Our walmart is the same. Empty lines. There is no point in going. Unless you want a childs shirt or pants or something. They have mountains of those.

The problem is Ive already been yelled at twice to put away the gosh darn phones by beady eyed crows or managers in there. Humpth, the nerve. However the sight of a completely bare soup, canned goods line being empty on both sides is something to behold. But not that much, its only a few pallets worth.

Now if I am a trucker and stood inside say a Cambells soup shipper waiting on THEM to wrap a pallet in a EMPTY FACILITY (Where it normally is wall to wall soups...) with 200 trucks waiting on 4 docks then I will panic. But not before.

 

Just want to point out, in the 1950s soviet "scientists" were selling the global ice age. No one was worried because they had a wood stove and a back 40.

40 yrs later their entire system "collapses" overnight and gorbachev is in san francisco and later boston within the year creating green cross international to save us from global warming and now the "science" is made to fit. What really fits is uproar in the east strike in the west. The pinnacle achievement of conquerors is to be invited as a distinguished guest into the enemy castle.

I tell you what. Even here in Arkansas on my land with trees around my home in plenty. Every spring I chopped enough trees for firewood to support something like 6 years worth of families and children who have NOTHING in these hills other than wood for heat, cooking and hot water for everything. No electricty no real plumbing to speak of and so on. Nothing.

Its for the children. Free. Even today I can probably get a few more winters out of the trees that are left before the utitlity company henpecks them into toothpicks along our telephone poles (We used 9 to get to our house then) The only four trees left alone are the big walnuts. The trunks on those would someday make a one hell of a boardroom table somewhere for a bling busting load of money to someone.

If I wanted more trees, just wait 10 years they will get big enough for firewood quickly enough.

 

What you are failing to think about is the infection rate and the ability of this virus to mutate into something worse.

The way you stop it. By limiting people in larger groups to stop transmission. Look back at history, the Spanish Flu. Killed a hundred million people, iirc. St Louis mitigated the spread by closing everything down when other cities didn't.

People are stupid, panicky animals in groups.They are the only thing Im actually concerned about with this whole ordeal. Thry are so stupid that after being told to limit exposure to large groups, everyone floods the stores in large groups.

You are only thinking about the current mortality rate and the current status of this virus. Think long term.

 

Already mutated, testing and restricting travel may help.

 

When I was in college, I was in a class for surviving the freshman year. One of the big topics was the causal relationship between fear (anxiety) and infection. When a person is anxious over anything, the immune system of the body begins to erode. The longer the fear lasts, the lower the ability to fight off viruses and other infections. So, a person tuned into the nightly news and remaining in an anxious state about the corona virus actually increases their risk of infection by about 30% according to medical research.

Heck, we still use a wood cook stove (Fall Winter Spring) and have a back 40+, heats our hot water too. We've never been dependent on any oil or gas company and have strived to be self-reliant as much as possible. Even if they took away our electricity (and yes TP), we'd still be ok, make things a little harder on us, hand pump on the well, oil lanterns, rags, etc, but we'd still make out ok. Self reliance was taught to us kids at a very young age, as our kids were, and now our grandkids are (and hopefully my great grand kids, if I live long enough).

One benefit of farming, albeit no money in it, is a never ending supply of quality meat & vegetables.

@FoolsErrand has a good point, our enemies continually strive to destroy us in any way possible and our way of life. Anyone who doesn't believe that is just kidding themselves.

Do I think this is being overblown, yeah, but by containment (a little late) the G hopes to end it quicker. I get that, but by doing that is the resulting "panic mode" and shutting down schools and the economy worth it? Not to mention substantially increasing our continually rising trillion dollar debt load. Now, if the mortality rate was say 50% or higher that would be a game changer for sure, but at only somewhere between 3-4%, probably not.

The reality is that containment should have been done at the onset, keeping the virus out by immediately and temporarily closing our borders until we got this thing figured out. Unfortunately for us, the Chinese made the informed decision to keep their outbreak a secret for awhile and deceive us, shocking I know, but what else would you expect from an enemy, the truth.

Another fact that's concerning is that we get over 80% of our medication from China, anti-biotics, everything from aspirin to antibiotics. This needs to cease. Hopefully, we learn something from all this, but we likely won't; we never do. Unequivocally, China is our enemy, worse than Russia in my opinion, being dependent on them for anything is a big, big, mistake.

Moscow funded a young revolutionary named Mao Zedong who first partnered with the nationalist chinese to repel the japanese invasion .. Then attacked his -by then- fully infiltrated partners and eventually beat them. [exactly how the bolsheviks partnered with the socialist kerenski party to defeat the czar in feb 1917 .. Then attacked and overthru them later in october 1917 giving us the first soviet state. They repeat successful operations over and over in a systematic manner.]

Anyway mao fought the "opium wars." NOT a fight for heroin revenue. A fight USING heroin delivered for free to the enemy as a weapon. Same as it was done to US troops in vietnam.. Pure heroin in all the whorehouses nearly free. Now its all over america as a perfect vehicle for fentanyl that our citizens PAY them for. Better than anthrax.. It costs money to poison your enemy with that. Why pay to fight when you can sell someone their own suicide?

Cuba still coordinates most of the drug traffic into USA and our govt used to know that. This info comes from the book "red cocaine" if you want court cases and so forth. The heroin comes from the emerald triangle which used to be called the emerald quadrangle until they changed the nickname to remove the chinese province that controls the whole region.. Burma cambodia etc.

Anyway china is an extension of moscow, russia gave birth to chinese communist party that rules it today.. The "sino- soviet split of 1961" [china russia breakup] was fake in accordance with all the proper elements of old real warfare. They pretend to be independant but work together in a scissor strategy against us. Good cop bad cop, forcing us into constant concessions favorable to them long term. Like giving china all our military tech under clintons deregulation... port access, financial market access etc etc etc. Note they clone every single good product on purpose with no repurcussion from any capitalist patent law. Its an attack to undermine our economy. Inflate our costs and regulations and strife.. Dilute the currency and so forth. Anything that destabilizes and causes problems. But russia is still in the board room on all of it.
