Lol yes I know very well on pulling hills and heavy weight to be honest I miss my 425B same gears that motor was hot and run circles around this 550 this first wire fed cat I've ran it seems do lot better in pull drop down to 70-75 hit cruise
-
Yes cat did it. Not know enuff people yet to get real program put in but on Brite side it does get decent mpgavrg 5-5.4
-
Idk if turbo been changed this is a 97 in a 95 379 yes no waste gate. 15 over 355 sitting on little rubber

I have a 3406E and put a 550 brakesaver file in it. It already had 58’s in it. I upgraded the turbo with a BW Stage 1. I can get 43-45 of boost BUT, I don’t hold it there long cause it creates Hot intake heat. If I was in your shoes, 40 psi would be about right for what you have. I wouldn’t doubt it either if Cat dump the low nox 550 file in it.Joe Bob 53 Thanks this.

I watch pryometer and water and oil temp close make sure they don't climb up on me it just don't run like I would think a 550 should it really does better on cruise and even letting it pull down to bout 1300 where any other engine would be lugging Iknow I've got one injector cuts out some i will be changing it shortly that may be the issue just doesn't sound or show it has steady miss . Thanks again for the reply

Sometimes Cat’s tuning is depending on the technician I think.
We’ve had our one truck with C15 bumped to 550, 1,850 but can’t get away from our old faithful 475, 1,750 3406E.
It used to be a 475 hp as well but it was so thirsty, so it was bumped to 550.
The 3406E is still the same 475 hp it’s always been at all it’s life and works good with great fuel economy.
But I had a tuning guy come in, change a few parameters in that C15 and a different file. Nothing huge, just a simple so as not to have broken parts or issues.
Now that truck, which is now set at 575, 2,050, will leave every truck we have in dust, while showing the same temps on pyro, same coolant temps and better on fuel. -
40psi must have a BW non wastegated turbo.
get someone else to flash a pre clean power 550 fileDiesel Dave Thanks this. -
Depends on the truck

If you can get your truck through Phoenix, have Eli at ATE Diesel give it a proper tune that isn't going to blow something up....He knows his #### -
What this guy said. Ive got a factory 550 2WS with the wastegate closed off and a slightly turned up ftl/fts and it will do 30 tops on a fresh filter. 25-28 normal. It pulls pretty good overall but doesnt feel impressive.. Just keeps chuggin up the hill tho.
