Transforce is a staffing agency that povides qualified drivers to Co's on a Temp to Perm basis.

They recently hired a group of people and without notice lowered the hourly pay after everyone started.

Only after someone pushed the issue did they agree to pay the agreed upon wage to everyone then gave notice that the wage was going to change.(Which is legal to do in the state in question,PA)

My advice when dealing with these type of agency's, or any Co for that matter, is GET IT IN WRITING BEFORE YOU START!!!

I've worked for these people some time ago..All was well till there was a safty issue with who they had put me with..I run to make money and yes not always by the book..but I was given a load that put me WAY over my 70 hrs so I told them I couldn't take it right away..Told either take the load or hit the door..I called these guys to cover my tail..They told me to not take the load and they would deal with it..When all came to light they said that even though I was right and the Dispatch was even let go they told me they had to keep there customer happy and I was let go..Do not trust These guys,Ever..The driver means nothing to them no matter what they tell you..

Im curious. Can these companies not be sued for letting you go because you refused a load that would have caused you to break the law and go over your hours?

Yes it's illegal and you can sue. But you need proof or the DOT must be able to find proof. No way can they coerce you to run illegally.

Good information. I figured DOT had something like this set up. I just quit working for a small company based in Arlington, TX because they continuously refused to fix the equipment. Drivers beware though if you file this complaint with the DOT you might as well have another job lined up and ready to go because they are going to fire you.

They can now. New rule in place by FMCSA protects drivers who are coerced into running illegal.
