Hey crazy eyes. It looks like no one told you to interview your c/d
, Need to keep bug in dispatch to send you to the nearest terminal
, just like everyone had say, you should had done this the min the person started doing all that. Dispatch will send you to terminal just keep asking. If you have alot of stuff wait so you don't loose everything n most of all don't give up the truck, keeping the truck gives you the right to be picky with next c/d. Hang
in there n stand your ground, let this person know that you will contact local authority,if he persist
.
Also been in a team you don't have to take any b.... c from anyone. -
The only advice I'd say is, buy a camera/camcorder.tape recorder with LOTS of batteries. Document things. Stand your ground.
Be smart. For god sake, don't "fight fire with fire" in this case, fight fire with intelligence.
I also agree - plead to your bosses that your co-driver is a few sandwiches short of a picnic - digital evidence will seal his fate. -
Thanks to everyone for chiming in. Several of you are correct, I let this guy into this position, mainly because Im just new in the industry and Im terribly afraid of job jumping. I spent 10 months unemployed since my previous job and it was seriously the worst 10 months of my life.
I may be a pacifist by nature, but Im not afraid of this man as far as physically. I could easily leave lumps all over him. But Obviously that will land me in jail and without a job, I can sit through the jail time, but I need employment when Im done. He has threatened me several times, threatened to basically lie to the company to get me fired. And Im afraid they will buy his lies.
The more time passes, the more rational it sounds that I just leave him somewhere. Im guessing he would call the police immediately.......... And then I wonder exactly what would happen. All his personal belongings are going to be on the truck, so Im wondering if thats an issue. After I dumped him, I would gladly drop his stuff at a terminal or eventually overnite his stuff to him even, whatever.. Im not a thief.
Just kind of wondering how the company would handle that situation. Im fully capable of grabbing loads and delivering them, so even if they wanted to fire me, I could get loaded to a terminal. Just pondering all the legalities of leaving him behind. Is it against the law in any way? Could he have the state troopers stop the truck and have me arrested? Could or would the company have the troopers deal with me? Or would they just fire me at the worst? and maybe if Im lucky or charming enough they let me keep the truck at best?
We have been arguing for over a week. The company knows. The company has said we are "coded" for a terminal.
Also, thanks for the suggestion on buying a GO PHONE.. Ill do my best to find a wally world or target or something and that is definitely a great idea!!
He is also basically telling me that when I take my hometime, he will be staying in my home with me...... He has no home, apartment, whatever.... I wonder exactly how he thinks that is going to fly. Per the response about QC'ing everything and turning around and smiling at the co-driver, thats pretty much how it is currently, I havent QC'ed anything since friday due to the weekend staffers, but Im pretty much just smiling at this idiot or just not saying anything at all.
Thanks again guys, appreciate the responses -
You're a better man than me...
I'd let him come home with me though...but he'd never be seen again after putting me through what he has done to you.
You can buy those pre-paid phones in truckstops too...I saw some TracFones for $8 (another $20 for 1 hour of talk time) in a few truckstops.
I have a TracFone and a regular cell phone...kinda like Clint Smith says about pistols...1 is none, 2 is 1 and 3 is better (the point if if one fails you have a backup) -
lol
How many times you think Ive fantasized about digging a hole and burying this guy alive after he started in telling me that he was coming home with me? Im still seriously considering this. The problem is that I don't know if this situation can last until my hometime. I also live with a woman and 1 year old. I dont want to feel like Ive put her in a bad situation if I bring him home and have my way with him on my side of the fence -
If your present phone has a sim card in it you should be able to put it in a go phone and just continue with your regular plan.
-
Its probably not the right thing to do but i would wait until he said something that offends you and just go off on him. If he keeps talking crap just beat his Arse and he might get the point that youre not joking around with him.
