I'm ready to head out.
Actually found stuff at the local walmart.
Not worried about the virus but not going to test fate. Will wipe every toilet seat before sitting and I don't doubt that people will be trying to steel the TP from rest areas etc.
homeskillet, D.Tibbitt, bentstrider83 and 2 others Thank this. -
Well, if anything has come out of this whole virus thing, it's just further cemented my intent to not travel by commercial airliner. Incubation periods for any given pathogen shorter than the actual trip and no one batting an eye towards possible containment. Call me grim all you want, but at least on slower methods of travel like a cruise ship or a train, the symptoms seem to have enough time to show up in a particular case and appropriate measures could be taken right then and there.
But seeing as how the airlines are already experiencing the woes from the whole pandemic, I could picture more aircraft sitting in the dust at some random boneyard. More music video shoots and post-apoc scenes being filmed with inert jets as a backdrop!!homeskillet Thanks this. -
The risk is just not worth the reward. Keep driving and get stranded somewhere far away from home because of this virus over reaction crap. Somewhere with no way to resupply the truck with food and water or a way to defend myself. No thanks, home is where the preps and weapons are. Besides most people are unappreciative and ungrateful. I'm not driving right now, but if I was I'd be parking at the company yard, last week, and getting home.
Besides, with rest areas closing up, how long before truck stops close up? You can't make people show up for work you know and the gov't is going to give free money so why work? Rhetorical question. -
Anyone else notice that more weigh stations are closed or not pulling trucks in as much?
-
You seem to forget that truck drivers will be the only ones being allowed to get through. As you'll have the goods people need to survive. It is the rest of the people that won't
-
I'm not. Kentucky and Tennessee are working them.
-
Already a $60 billion dollar package put together to start the bail out process for Boeing. Came out yesterday.D.Tibbitt and BoostedTeg Thank this.

If a rest area is closed then more traffic going to the commercial business. Win for commerce...
-
Well, that's an entire manufacturer.
