I'm not against them making a profit.
Everybody buying insurance from acme insurance is a "pool". Company abc has 10,000 employees buying insurance off of Acme Med Ins. and company xyz has 25,000 employees buying it from Acme. IT'S THE SAME COMPANY. Why can't I buy the same insurance from the same company for the same price for myself? I just want to jump in the pool with everyone else, it don't change anything for Acme just because I do or I don't work for abc or xyz or work for myself.
Yes I do know this and haven't had a chance to test it out yet. But I don't care how much ins. will cover and how much I'm on the hook for. I want to know how much total cost for lets say a knee replacement from Doc abc at hospital ABC "TOTAL COST". So I can see who is cheaper compared to Doc xyz at hospital XYZ. Last time I broke an arm I must of got 20-30 different bills in the mail from people I didn't even see or talked to. When I got home with a cast on my arm I had no way in the world to know what to plan or budget for.
And for the last of paragraph of your post- In comes the government "we are here to help"
Edit: For us math and taxed challenged guys, I pay my estimated quarterlies which is based off last years filings which has my mortgage interest figured in. And the fact that I get to write off my mortgage interest didn't have any play in whether I bought the house it was just a bonus.
Are there companies with 100% paid med insurance

Basic math and taxes seem to be lacking. But think whatever you want to.

Feel free to show me where I'm wrong.

If you're an O/O you should jump with joy anytime you have a M/R cost. A 25K motor you should pass out from the esctasy of paying it. If you have to pay higher insurance premiums than everyone else the world is great. Because by your definition it's all a 100% write off.
I'm done, not going to argue a point that has no bearing on me. -
I been doing this for long time and I know there is no logic in spending 10k to save 2500. I would never get excited about spending 25k to overhaul my motor even if it is a write off. But it does happen and I have overhauled an engine or 2. But what does that have to do with employer paid Med. Ins.? Apples to Oranges. When an employer pays for Med. Ins. for a person working for them, it is part of their pay. You pay an employee to work for whether in money, benefits, company car, stock options and on and on.Last edited: Mar 19, 2020

YRC freight, UPS, Holland, ABF freight, to name a few.
Most Teamsters companies offer health insurance with no weekly premiums and low or no deductibles. And low out of pocket costs.Jake Brake 15 Thanks this. -
You sound like you think you get 100% back on taxes. You don't.
It simply reduces your taxable income. You get a little back (or don't pay) but depending on how well you can shuffle your money you are very likely getting very little as credit.
Don't get be wrong, the tax credits help, but it's simply not a 1:1 on expenses vs. tax refunds. -
YRC yellow always advertises "100% paid healthcare for you and your family from day one" and overtime after 8 hrs

Shipex has free paid health care for the driver.

Also when I worked for Holland Enterprises out of North Dakota they paid for it after 2 years of employment
