How was it for you at the beginning? Did you use load boards? Did you already know brokers? Many brokers won’t talk to you if you have a new authority, from 30 days to one year. How can someone survive without any loads?
What did you do to survive this period?

It was great. Brokers were calling me left and right begging to take their loads. My truck never broke down and I was saving lots and lots of cash.
Then I woke upbigtravelr, feldsforever, lynchy and 3 others Thank this. -
You shouldn’t have any problems getting loads right now. This is 100 mile radius for today and tomorrow.

First 3 months you need to survive on the bottom of barrel. After that you start moving up to top of the barrel for the year. The year following your first year you move into mid range brokers who aren’t bad or aren’t the best. After that you start moving slowly into the top tier bracket and slowly working your way up to the $4 per mile dry van rates that no one seems to find but apparently are their but it’s in a hidden society. -
Ones I talked to today wanted the MC be established from 30 days, 90 days, to ONE YEAR.
But I don’t drive more than 300 miles at the moment.Last edited: Mar 18, 2020

No wonder so many drivers go down during first few months.
joseph1853 Thanks this. -
300 mile radius of where?

I wish you good luck. Lots of folks are going to be in survival mode very soon with more and more businesses closing and halting operations because of the virus.
Gonna be lots of trucks sitting without loads.Coffey and LoneRanger Thank this. -
Unless people will start live at the minimal, the transportation business will not go down. People need to eat.

The rates certainly will big time.
