You live in a fantasy land. What kinda time you think people have on there hands? Most of the people that want tested can’t even get a test. Now your telling me that because some lady that works at a truckstop can get a hazmat team there to quarantine you and your truck?

    Your ridiculous.

Most people that work at a truckstop can’t even wash there own hands.

Your anxiety is getting the best. Probably should just stay home. You could very well be right. Sometimes you have to deal with things when they get here, not if they get here. Good Lord man. Go fishing or something. Time to cut off the news.
Freight is pretty good. When it's not, go home. Easy peezy, unless you work yourself into a frenzy.
Pro Tip: Idle your truck up and cut your AC on high before you kick the bucket. Makes it easier on the health workers. You know, if it's all doom and gloom that's some advice you can use.;)

I like what you are saying. The point I am trying to make, is that as drivers, we take put our lives at risk every time we drive. Always have. Now, in this environment, it's even more so. What I ask in return is not a guarantee that I be safe. What I ask is that reasonable precautions be taken so that I can be reasonably safe when I do my job. What I wanted was for my company to agree, that in the event I had to go to the hospital, that when they came to rescue the trailer, that they would rescue my tractor, too, so that it did not get towed and impounded. I think that's a reasonable request. Who wants to delay calling 911 when you think you need to because you know Pennsylvania is going to impound your truck and when you get out of the hospital, the bill is going to be several thousands of dollars. That's if they haven't already sold it at the auction.

If your an O/O why would YOUR truck be any of there responsibility? Would you go drive a truck a driver just got hauled out of because of suspected of having CV?
Where are they going to find the extra driver and then get them to where ever on the planet YOUR truck it to rescue it. Where do you expect them to take it?

    You better smarten up?

Normally it wouldn't, but these are not normal times. Aren't we all in this together? Why should I take on all the extra risk? And it's a significant extra risk.

You know your basically saying somebody should risk getting covid just to move your truck, right?

Would you be willing to do that since "we're all in this together"?
Dispatcher calls you up, hey, this driver got very sick and possibly has covid, can you go drive his truck a few miles then go get tested yourself?

If you get sick bobtail the M fr to the hospital and call them. If you have the simple flu you don't want to go into the ER only to catch some God forsaken bat disease from China. They won't tow it. Cross the nowhere to park bridge when you get there. Relax man.
At first I thought you were trolling. Just relax. Company has the trailer. Bobtail wherever you see fit.
I figure if I get sick I will just go home. Even if I have to sleep in my drive way the old lady and my son can pass me a six pack and pepperoni pizza through my window. Times are tough.

What are they going to do with the company trucks? There's going to be a lot more of those. The answer? They have no idea yet. That's a big part of the problem for me. This issue has not been thought through, and they will probably start getting sick drivers next week.

If you are so worried about all of this, go home now. Tell your company that you are going home. Then go.
