National 2 week quarantine??

Mines been in chemo for 14 months and was scheduled for a stem cell transplant April 6th ........

We are hunkered down ....

She’s actually feeling better no chemo or bull crap doctors appts. She hasn’t left the house for a week already....

April 20th they are making the decision for stem cell May 6th .... a long shot I believe

 

The previous post about making a mask is great, for it reminds one not to touch one's face and may prevent some inhalations.

Below info is from a Doctor with over 50 years of experience in molecular pathology, virology, and genetics. Never mind what I say, the expert doctor recommendations matter.

However his advice is mainly for other doctors working in hospitals. The symptom recomendations is important. We do not need to stock up on masks, that is not hoard them, they are only good for reminding us not to touch our faces.

Now we are talking quarantine.....

 

Smart post. Answer is yes brokers are booking loads with no thought at all. I got a call Friday late afternoon saying hey IL is now closed so don’t try and deliver on Monday. Thankfully the trailer was still at the yard and I have more trailers or I’d be in a situation.

We have actually been avoiding food loads so far because rates havent justified the traffic jams in the Midwest anyway. Things are going to change a lot for this coming week, I think.

 

I understand what you are saying, I felt the same way. However, look at Italy. We are trying to avoid that. Say 700 are dying each day in Italy, and we have 5.5 x‘s bigger population. So if 3850 people were dying every day we would be much more alarmed. And if They were not going so aggressive lately on quarantine then what if it got to 5000 per day? So are we okay losing 27,500 per day? What if it went much higher? What happens if your loved one dies, what if two or three loved ones die?

When I looked at it like that it sort of changed my mind. The downside to this shut down is we’re going to save many lives now, but it’s going to happen again this coming winter. The goal and idea, is to come up with a solution by then so we don’t have to do this all again a 2nd time. If medicine or a vaccine isn’t out by this December, well all be doing this again.

Edit: So just looked.. 3 days ago in Italy 500 deaths, yesterday 700 deaths, today 800 deaths. It’s slowing, but still rising. That is with pretty much a total lock down.
