The real "party row" wasnt near what it is these days.
More action during daylight hours then the crap that happens at night.

i ate some bad food last night down in brownsville. i woke up with a feeling that i had been kicked in the stomach a few times, and then came the rush. i only had enough time to get my sandles on and run to the nearest trash can. i put the mofo behind the trailer since i had been along the fence line. i quickly sat on top of the can. i let it rip for about 30 seconds. i felt MUCH better after doing so, and dirty, too.

Here's another good old school place. Been around forever and still does a brisk business.
I ate there today. One of the few places I get the buffet.
Not for quanity, but for the selection of good vegetables, homestyle mashed pototoes, etc.
    Super nice staff there too.
I-65 Exit 38 on the west side.

Yea, people think of truckers as intense eaters, but seriously for all that time in the truck..the digestive system needs healthy stuff

I see where you're from brother.

Hey Guy's, I use to work for the faulty Flying J's Travel Plaza in Commerce Ga 30558 that didnt pull expired items, sold out-dated deli items, and basically didnt give a flip about you the driver.

I'm not a saint, but I didnt let you get screwed when I worked there and if you did, I didnt hesitate to correct the matter. I lost my job because doing it the right way showed how illigitamite The General Manager (who is still there) and Merchadiser (FIRED) (Thank God._O) were in providing Quality Customer Service.

Infact had the State hit them 4 or more times with Health Inspections, last time they were cited for having (4) expired milks for sale in there drink slides.

I learned the hardway that company philosphy doesnt apply when it takes away from profit. Old Jay Call probably wouldnt have stood for any of this B.S. but unfortunately he died and the scum come in and tainted his Plaza's and Philosophy.

As a former Employee to Flying J's in Commerce Ga 30558, I'd suggest you just bypass buying any food items, there high-priced and the GM that works at this location is still not a Man that works on good judgement. So you will probably pick up
an item that is old or eat a deli item that is past the 4 hour limit, as the times are not labeled on the pans and are just written in washable markers on the sliding glass which leaves room for errors and deceit, worked at many restaurants my friends and every pan was hit with a sticker and labeled with a time, the ways they operate is illigitamate and you are warned by Ron Kitchens not to eat there or buy food items from this location, at the time of my employment they were not concerned with you but with dollars and bonuses. You were just a nickel and dime and nothing more.
If your stopping for showers you will receive good showers and good parking.
The products sold are basically junk and are non returnable after 30 days.
Basically the p[roducts sold are from other stores or outlets that have discontinued there products and Flying J's bought there remaining Inventory to sell to you and make a great profit. I have a great Rezentment for my employment and termination
with this company but I wouldnt lie to you about what is going on and I wouldnt steer you in the wrong direction. If you are in the Commerce Ga Area and are looking to park at Flying J's you should drive up to exit 149 and visit the Walmart for a quick shop of all goods needed and while parked at Walmart, you can walk to Sonny's BBQ below less than a quarter Mile away and eat a good meal.

Then return to Flying J's to fuel up and Sleep. when I wrked there I wondered why they abused the Drivers by offering expired items and goods that were priced to high for there quality and the reality sunk in through words from the Merchadiser when in a conversation about the selling of expired items she said "If someone buys a pack of expired nuts and notices, there not liekly to turn around anyway" That reference from that POS was in reality about you the Truck Driver. Now the General Manager, Accounting Manager and even Facility Manager were involved in ths conversation
with me and when the Merchadiser said this, none of them really were concerned.
They were obliviously idiots to the fact that "YOU" the "DRIVER" are the reason we have jobs. now the Accountant I got her fired too, because I am pretty #### Intelligent and caught on to her Inability to count the tubes and adequately
supply the right amount of money into them and instead of checking for errors she probably just cooked the books.

In one month a Mountain was turned into a mole hill. It cost me my job but I broke up that Axis of Evil, But, I am Disappointed. The General Manager is still working there and is a POS, if you go in there you might see him. He has deceit in his eyes and
is weak. Just dont eat there, sont waste your money on ther food items or soft drinks. go to Walmart, Eat at a quality plac e as Applebee's, Sonny's, Cracker Barrel, Ryans Steakhouse. All are Places I have worked for and Approved of there ability to
supply good food and clean enviroments. At Sonnys you get a Hamburger freshly cooked that doesnt sit in water, Cracker Barrel is jam up with fresh meats and salads.
Ryans has one highly motivated establishment for making quality buffet items.
Applebee's dates and labels each piece of meat Individually and has the highest standards for cleaning that I have took part in.

Dont let yourself be a victim of technicality, Dont let Travel Plaza's dictate where you eat and Sure as hell dont give Flying J's in Commerce Ga all of your Business, there not deserving by my standard.

Thank you for your honesty and integrity FFJE.
We have a yard in Lawrenceville so I get through there a good bit.
I make it point to stop at the ECHO at exit 166 in Carnesville GA.

I started driving when there were no FJs or Petros east of the Mississippi River. Only Union 76 and a TA was just starting out.

I don't hold it against the newer drivers for supporting the big chains that I've grown to despise.
Generally the company they train with has accounts with these places and they have no choice but to fuel and shower there.
That leads to eating there as well and many of these drivers don't realize there are better choices available.
There is also the lifestyle differences that have taken place in the last couple of generations with the propagation of "fast food" and the perception that this is an acceptable diet.
I eat fast food myself when there is nothing else available and I admit it is often preferable to the plate food at T/A or FJ.
However, I will always support Mom & Pop when I can.

Thank you for your post and at least you can sleep at night. You did the right thing and that will pay off manyfold in the future.

Its good to hear that you support mom and pop, they atleast (most) are honest and treat you as a person instead of a sales target. This fast food world is terrible on everyone and big corporations are about profits foremost and care nothing about people.
That is why I hate retail and probably will not work in such an enviroment again.
Ya'll got a hard life and hardly get the respect you deserve in supplying America's Demand.
My dad was a trucker before he hurt his back, and we know how hard ya'll work and are appreciative for your hardwork and effort to maintain in a world of Dillusion.

Hopefully the economy will get better and will provide better loads for ya'll. This merger of Flying J's and Pilot has got to be the biggest
mistake I've seen in a long time. There needs to be competition and
a competitive outlet to providing the best service.
If flying J's and Pilot Merge, the ability to slack will be more prevalent.
like someone told me though "when in doubt, truck it out."
