Good point x1Heavy. I forgot about stuff like that, seemed minor at the time but now I end up missing it.
When I first started driving, the older drivers were upset that the DOT wanted to use violations that you received in your car, and hold them against your CDL. I’m glad those guys aren’t around to see what happened to Trucking. It would make them puke.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Exactly, if regulations can be lifted for convenience then why take those same regulations to choke truck drivers. It's not about safety it's really about driving revenue.Rubber duck kw Thanks this.

I was worried about that too. Having a top end car in those years did not help. I would be so unhireable today if I did that.

Hilarious! Oh! Shady brokers is another topic and thread.

Not other generation, just millennials and younger. Gen X grew up with their WWII grandparents still alive and well and know better than to use stupid hyperbole catch phrases popularized on social media network. Please don’t go lumping other generations into the same group as skinny jean wearing f&$ks.PoleCrusher Thanks this.

Detention pay is foolishness you have to wait a certain hour for it to even kick in $40 for every hour. Ha! by the time that hour has kicked in your truck starts getting loaded, finally.

How would you feel if the entire medical profession went on strike right now? You really think your gonna gain respect by throwing a fit while the country needs us the most?
Drive your truck, do your part or sit at home and let the people who do this cause we want to, not because we have to, go to work.
I am all for lifting some of the over bearing BS in the industry, but don't wait for a time of crisis to announce your demands. I would rather see drivers pull together and handle business now....then form a completely independent association that would have a singular clear voice with our policy makers in the future when the sky isn't falling.Deere hunter, LoSt_AgAiN and nredfor88 Thank this. -
I like the days when the foolishness pays me all day waiting for room in their tank. It’s nice making out that foolishness at $1000 a day and not burning a drop of fuel. It would suck if I didn’t have that foolishness because then I’d be worried about how I was going to recoup the lost revenue from not running all day.Deere hunter and ZVar Thank this.

Only when it's not done right. And that was the point of my original post. It's almost never done right and that's one of the big issues. Not just detention, but all unpaid work drivers do.Deere hunter and Long FLD Thank this.
