I’m reading there is no cure yet for the coronavirus. The claim you posted is labeled by Snopes as “unproven” as of 3/30/2020.

Unproven is accurate. However it does not mean no cure or it's all a lie. Let's all wait until the controlled studies currently underway are finished until we start saying it either way. Snopes is right to question the good doctors results at this point.

A French doctor was the first to start the chloroquine/antibiotic treatment. He had results that were just as promising.
Chloroquine, an anti-malaria medicine, has been around for decades. Clinical trials are unnecessary.slim6596 Thanks this. -
From what I've read, the drugs reduce the severity and duration of the illness, not cure.
But still...PE_T Thanks this. -
What if his results are un-replicable? What if it was something else that was responsible?
Science is full of examples of "hey guys, check this out" that turn out to be dead ends. Trying is good, but verifying is necessary before going all in. -
If your 78 year old mom has COVID-19, are you going to wait for Fauci, et. al. to do clinical trials? I sure wouldn’t.
-
A little early to be calling him a good doctor? We should probably wait until the controlled studies are finished to label the doctor.
-
The fact that none of his patients were hospitalized when he started his trial proves it’s not reliable. Since 80% of all Covid patients never get hospitalized. The man is amazing he cured people who were on their way to curing themselves.

Yes, I would. Why? Because my Mom is 74 years old, has had heart surgery, a heart attack, chronic asthma/allergies, is a borderline alcoholic, and has a history of bad reactions to medication. For example after her heart surgery the hospital gave her a mild laxative to get things started again. It was so effective she was put BACK into the ICU.
Ignoring the personal and focusing on the macro - if we go all in on a treatment that intially looked promising but turns out to be ineffective then we will likely delay implementation of effective treatments.
Imangine if you are in charge of moving a heavy object thru a maze. Do you scout a path first, and then return to move the object or do you just carry the thing down dead ends?
There are times to say "darn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" and there are times to move with prudence.homeskillet, MericanMade, Tb0n3 and 1 other person Thank this. -
There is a difference between a good doctor and the good doctor. My use of that phrase in no way is referring to the doctor as good or bad. My use was just referring to said doctor simply as a doctor. Calling a doctor the good doctor can also be used as a disrespectful term. Most youngins today don't know that term.
