I'm going to bump this back up to the top because it is critical for people to see this link. I just had 5 biopsies and 4 areas cut out just last week. I am waiting on the biopsy report. Mine looked like several of these pictures. I would also recomend you go in for a visual body scan by a dermatologist. Full body needs to be looked at....yes your back and butt for those who are wondering.

So boys and girls get out there and get your skin checked. I'm sitting here with a 5 inch scar with 25 stitches in my stomach. Doc cut on that one place for about an hour....went all the way down to the fat layer...not hard to do if you have ever seen me, I've got lots to work with....:biggrin_25523:

They had something like that in the Readers Digest awhile back. I got one that is kind of iffy on my arm. Doesn't look like one of those, but did look like one in the RD

I'm going to bump this back to the top again. I've got the lab reports back. Let's just say I'm headed to a second doctor. Two of the spots were bad news.

Please get your body checked. Do it soon.

In 2007 at the age of 33 I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. I went through several months of treatment. I have been cancer free for two years now. I met with many Doctors during my recovery and I was told on many many occasions that catching and treating it early was crucial to surviving and beating it. I believe this to be true with skin cancer also. And bigolddeerhunter keep your head up. I know it is tough but you have to think positive. And yes get a second opinion from a specialist. No we have not totally beaten cancer yet, but we have come along way in the last few years. People when you have a feeling about something have it checked out! It might save your life! I know it did mine!

I think we will be ok. They cought it pretty early and removed one already. The other one is under my ear lobe and I will have to go to a plastic surg. to get it removed. They spotted some melononomia (sp) cells within the tissue sample. I should be ok. I'll report back when I know more.

Surgery is scheduled for sometime next month. Here is what the plastic surg. told me. Most of the moles (dark flat spots) we have from birth or early childhood will eventually lead to melanoma. They are considered congential features. So watch the ones you have had that might not have even been exposed to the sun. Other spots are caused by sun exposure. Watch for what you see in the set of pictures at the first of this thread. Get someone to look you over...a professional ...a dermatologist..someone that deals with skin and spots. A regular GP doctor might not be able to spot the problem areas. So what I am saying just because you don't fit the profile of light skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes..don't think for a minute you are safe. Please get your self looked after...study the pictures at the first of this thread.

Check your mate for ticks.....errrrr spots....(Brad Paisley please excuse me and the starving pigmies )....voice of Larry the Cable guy off...
