I cross the border all the time with meat, fruit and vegetables. have been doing it for 20 plus years. never had a problem. I declare what I have. The basic restrictions are Citrus fruit of any kind and goat and lamb meat.tinytim, upnorthwpg, Phantom Trucker and 2 others Thank this.

Should specify that's southbound going into the U.S. Northbound, into Alberta at least, I was told they didn't have any food restrictions. Going into the U.S., it's all citrus, tomatoes, peppers are not allowed. The tomatoes grown in USA might be alright, mine were grown in Canada so they took them away. I've been told bagged rice is not alowed, the precooked rice in the pouches is OK. Just need to go on the US Customs website to make sure.

i was never allowed to bring in canned meat (like chef boyardee, campbells soup) into the states if was product of canada....canada didnt care, so i just bought that stuff in the usa
