If I do well in this business, I would like to spec out tri spread axle 53ft with the front axle being lifted to/from ground. I dislike the triple spread on 53ft.

Do what now?

somone has been looking at aussie trailers i think!

I have always thought a triple spread would be ideal to haul more than what current regulations allow in order to be legal. I have always liked the looks of spreads and like the benefits of them.

I dont mind hauling more if the extra pay is there. 25 years ago 42-45 foot trailers were the "big" trailers. Then they went to 48'. Hauling more for the same rate. Now the 53 is the big trailer and still hauling for the same rate......
...... Guess that is trucking???
WallyGator and ampm wayne Thank this. -
What type of a trailer do you pull, I went to a 53 ft. triple on my bull rack , best thing i could of done. I can lift the rear axle, makes it alot easier to get around with. Plus I'am legal at 90,000 lbs in Ia, Mn, Ne, SD, I wonder if my trailer would be legal in cali. if the rear axle was lifted up

I am student learning how to drive. Please forgive me for not explaining this further. I am saying if I like trucking, I wold explore the possibilty of getting overweight permits and ask utility to build me the triple spread reefer I dream of owning.

Just get a regular spread, load it like a rail car, and cut through the woods.....(grin)

Where can i find the regulations for trailer sizes?
