Dude, relax. Go to a scale, doesn't have to be a cat scale. Any certified scale will do. Get your weight. If you are too heavy on your tandems, slide them back. If you are too heavy on your drives, slide the tandems forward.

    Two more things...

    1. You don't have to panic when you see a weigh station. Yes they can sometimes be an annoyance but they are run by human beings just like you and me.

    2. No offence, but I'm really curious who handed you a cdl and the keys to a truck without showing you how to check and adjust your weights, because they need a good hard talkin'-to.

If anything, if your overweight, itll be on the trailer axle 9 times out of 10. So dont fuel right now, and slide the tandems where the last pallets are directly over the trl axle. On a side note, never fill your tanks on the way to pu a load. Note: If you get busted, I didn't say nuffin.

I’ve only seen 1 weigh station open in the last 3-4 weeks since covid, I’m mostly in Midwest tho.

You may have to go the opposite direction to find a CAT or certified scale. Then turn around and proceed past the state weigh station. Life ain't always fair.

    In general, legal weights are,
    12,000 steers
    34,000 drives
    34,000 tandem
    Total 80,000.

Each hole is approx 400 pounds, adjust and reweigh to confirm.

Various exemptions by state, check the front of a Rand McNally atlas.

I panicked once....restacked 2 pallets of beer on the ### end of trailer...made me legal. Scale on 81 in VA was closed.....Roanoke maybe? After that...no panic again.

Like someone said scalemaster is human too...run it.

I have sat on a DOT scale in Indiana overweight on my drives....got pulled around back. DOT dude says "I don't care about that, I just need to inspect your paperwork and meet my hazmat quota." Boom...$50 in my pocket cause my paperwork and equipment is in order...always.
