We were told to stay home. By our governors and mayors mind you. Not by the capital. And the brakes were locked up.
So why do we need a mass gathering of rocket scientists and math geniuses. So the capital can make the toughest decision in the world. To start us back up????
Specially since it wasn't the capital that shut us down to begin with. And some of us still aren't shut down.
why does it take a mass gathering to get us started?

Governors are abusing their power.

The White House laid out guidelines. States are interpreting them as they see fit.
When the White House lifts their guidance, states will react
It’s a game of we probably need to follow the White House guidance for now even if we don’t want too, so we don’t take any heat for any consequences. We can blame it all on the White House if people are unhappyValuable Asset, nredfor88 and buddyd157 Thank this. -
and in some places like Florida for one example, the governor there had not placed any lock downs, and now it is a hot spot, all thanks to a most inept governor
Is Florida America’s next coronavirus hotspot?
the feds left it up to the states to lock us down, that in turn maybe better than the feds. maybe not.
would you rather be forced to lock down or volunteer to do so?
here in my state, many businesses are closed, the "non-essential ones", and that's fine with not only me, but my entire family.
only my wife or me, (it's usually me) goes out for food shopping, and for the staples we may need, but DO NOT hoard.
it's not an abuse of power, but rather a pre-cautionary measure, to AVOID a complete martial law lock down, with curfews.
would you rather it be shut down by your governor, rather than martial law where you might be shot dead on sight?
then there is this

Well, hold on. Florida is a new hot spot because of all the spring breakers disregarded warnings and packed the beaches. Marti Gras too, they said NOLA was going to be the new hot spot.. I wear a mask in the grocery store, not because it may help, it just shows I'm willing to do that for our fellow man. It's the people that don't wear one in a store, should be called out. I think NYC is going to be the grand daddy, just because so many people in a tight space. Here in the Rocky Mountains, I don't feel the same urgency.I read, Wuhan China lifted it's virus sanctions and I think we'll just have to ride it out.buzzarddriver and Tug Toy Thank this.

spring breakers not only went to florida, but to Mexico as well, and other destination spots. the dumbasre Governor of florida for the longest time, did nothing
Pumpkin Oval Head Thanks this. -
I’d be careful calling people out for not wearing a mask. You have no idea of what’s on someone else’s mind.Valuable Asset, 201, Trucker Paul and 3 others Thank this.

As soon as Wuhan was locked down, Russia and Mongolia closed their borders.
We Americans, We had a football match, a couple of concerts and we received about 1000 flights from China....no one was paying attention...
And looked at what happened. 20,000+ deaths and more to come.
The Spanish flu in 1918 killed about 50 million people. 1918 Pandemic (H1N1 virus) | Pandemic Influenza (Flu) | CDC
The flu in 1918 had 3 waves...our Covid19 is only at the first wave...buddyd157 Thanks this. -
In our form of govt, states still have control over how they do certain things. Hence, all of these draconian measures from governors that eliminate freedom of movement along with fines for people doing 'non-essential' driving.
Where it gets real confusing is when it regards border security and illegals. For instance, AZ wanted to enforce its own border against illegals during the obama admin. This was bc the fed bureaucracy wants America flooded but AZ was saying to heck with that. Well dont ya know the obama admin sued bc they said border security was a fed matter and the state was overstepping its bounds. Of course the 9th circuit agreed with the obama admin argument and said immigration was a fed matter.
HOWEVER, fast forward to 2017 and Trump is now in office and is shutting down immigration from several countries that are terrorist hotspots and whose people cant be properly vetted. Well now you would think this is no problem since it was already asserted immigration is a fed matter, right? Well no sir, you'd be wrong. Due to ideological differences between the new admin and the bureaucracy, it is now ruled that immigration is a states right to control and that the fed is now the one overstepping.
So in summation, our form of govt still grants states rights, but only when it suits the ideological goals of the bureaucracy and powers that be.Last edited: Apr 12, 2020
