You can try setting trailer brakes but no the tractor. Pull the red valve and leave yellow valve pushed in. Don't forget to increase the idle RPMs, I use 700. Some trucks, and I drove one for another company that would shut down after 3 minutes even with both brake valves pushed in, such as waiting on a traffic light.
The company will knwo how much your truck idles and most companies that set it up to not idle will spank you if you idle more than that like. Usually they tell you to stop it before they penalize you. "Your mileage may vary."PE_T, truckdriver31, meechyaboy and 1 other person Thank this. -
OK I'll try that as for raising the RPM, Cruise control won't kick in until I'm up to speed so I can't use it to raise the rpmtruckdriver31 Thanks this.

They probably got it rigged not to idle unless the Outside temp meets with there approval
truckdriver31 and tscottme Thank this. -
What truck is it.? Turn cruise control on and press set . That could work. It could be temp related to. It will only idle below 30 or above 70.truckdriver31 and tscottme Thank this.

How do you guys with no idle use a microwave in your truck? Even my noodles takes 4 mins to heat. Seems like a pain in the ###.
I hope this doesn't apply to OTR trucks because that'd be unacceptable.truckdriver31 and Tb0n3 Thank this. -

Well at least they've got their priorities straight. Save money on fuel so they can pay for the dozen trucks they write off every day

#### it boy it ant that bad, anymore loltruckdriver31 and tscottme Thank this.

We are restricted by the temperature, 34 or below or 69 and above.
My temp reads ~10+ degrees higher when it is colder, so that can be a bitc#.
The only way I can do it is to use my tire thumper stick as a wedge between the seat frame and throttle.
Find the correct distance and wedge it in just enough to raise the idle a few RPM - but not too much.
That will last for 30 minutes or so.
I use that trick most when I am using the inverter to cook.truckdriver31, Wasted Thyme and Nsuaqcat Thank this.
