I have Cummins 2250 engine< IMG_20171004_195408[1].jpg yesterday noticed some wetness on ECM harness. I washed it with brake cleaner and today it is wet again. Fuel is coming from upper plug. By cummins quickserve ECM is between gear pump and fuel filter. Filter was changed 5000 miles ago so it should be not dirty. Never have 2250 ECM open but 871 as i remember has a cooling plate not fuel inside ECM. Any suggestion please.

Probably coming through the fuel pressure sensor

I agree. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure sensor and check for fuel. The fuel can wick through the wires all the way to the ECM.

Did you find the problem, same thing is happening to my 2250, I've been running like that for a while now but is getting worse.

No I did not find the leak. ECM was removed and it was dry from the rear.. I guess one of connectors spitting fuel on wire harness.

Thanks for the reply, yeah i thought the same thing when the leak started. But if you see on the picture below this connector that goes on the head is showing some wetness too. My guess is that is coming from inside the engine and running through the wiring harness like the others said. But is not from the fuel rail pressure sensor in my case.

This connector is for injectors harness. Some oil around is common thing but my is dry. Freaking mystery. Sometime it's leaking but sometime can be dry for long time. I did wrap paper towel around harness to catch at least place or direction from where it spits. So far nothing .

Found the problem after the starter die on me. Starter was only 1 year in a half old. I guess the fuel leaking on top of it damaged the starter. I replaced the starter and put truck in the shop. Aftertreament control valve was leaking from one of the sensors and running through the wiring harness. Valve is behind the ECM , i put a new wiring harness the old one was in a bad shape.
