Yes, wait until you meet mount potato at the shipper.
What will get you is certain days of the season after chemical application in the fields you cannot go out into them, it will kill you.Rideandrepair, AM14 and clausland Thank this. -
The thing with 'taters, if you want to grow 'em organically (no sprays), you need to rotate them after the first year, never plant them again in the same place for at least three years. There's a little beetle from CO that will strip your plants clean in short order. After they've eaten their fill, they lay their eggs in the soil just waiting for you to re-plant them 'taters there again next year. Crop rotation will help to keep the damage to a minimum....Rideandrepair, x1Heavy and AM14 Thank this.

I ran one random load of fungicide for potatoes up to Maine last year. Thats about as close as I'll get. It was off-season, so I didn't get to see much going on but learned alot from the guys there. Far different from my normal work but certainly interesting.Rideandrepair, Dennixx, x1Heavy and 2 others Thank this.

It should be OK. They ship potatoes like that out West. Drive like you have a paper cup of water on the dash. Don't spill it.Rideandrepair, Lostmykey and x1Heavy Thank this.

Or a tall coffee from McD's on the floor ahead of the shifter. he he.
Thank you to others for potato thoughts. We planted a crop one year in a half acre. It did not thrive very well. And the following year was a failure. We swapped to onions the third year with interesting problems. I think those darn onions have gone wild now.
Shows how growing anything is dangerous without any knowledge in those days. Buy seed, dig a hole, put seed in. Wait. Add water when dry. Wait some more. HA...Rideandrepair and clausland Thank this. -
No. They tell you to secure loose items.Rideandrepair and PE_T Thank this.

C’mon, bro.
Badmon, not4hire, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not to worry, run it. I’ve loaded taters in Florida and taken them to Lays in Wooster, no problem in the hills.Rideandrepair and Lostmykey Thank this.
