Hey fellas. i came over from the four wheeler forums with some questions for yall. My welding team at the high school is in the process of building an 18 wheel trailer. now, we've been trying to get answers out of parts people forever and as usual they know nothing. so, is there a write up somewhere? few questions to start: How thick is the king pin plate to fit a standard king pin. does anyone know of wheels and tires rated for a 25k axle?

Go to a truck/trailer scrap yard. You will find trailers in all states of tear down for specifications on various parts.

most kingpin plates are 3/16 to 1/4 " plate depending on crossmember spacing on my flat bed i replaced my 3/16 with 3/8 for more stability as the 3/16 plate cracked

if you using soft steel 3/8" you can use 1/4 plate but it needs to be at least AR400 lots of tire combinations but what is the trailer being used for that will narrow it down
