    I appreciate all the useful information everybody here has provided, and I will continue checking in to keep up with you.

    At this point in time, I feel I have exhausted all the options I have regarding finding a company or trainer that will take me on. :cry: I wish each and every one of you the best, whether you are a seasoned driver or a newbie. Take care of yourselves out there on the roads and remember there is always somebody who cares and worries about each of you.

    Mainly, I'm a female. Also, I don't have my CDL license, only my permit.

    Have you went though truck driving school? Can you pass the tests if you go and take them?

    I went to Roadmaster. There were about 20 students at a time waiting on their turn to get in, do the skill, then get out of the truck, and wait for another hour or two for another chance.

    Each week there were 10-12 students starting classes, and there were 2 instructors on the pad.

    I went out with a friend for 3 weeks, and with minimal amount of time to practice, I was getting the offset down pretty good. Unfortunately, he can't train me, his company isn't a training company.

    Hmm.. So you basically just need some practice before the final road test, correct? Did you try to find an owner operator with his or her own authority to run you around for a few weeks and get you some practice?

    If all else fails, you could always get your B class and drive for an expediter for a little while, you won't get what a company would consider big truck experience but you can start making some cash and get some OTR exp before moving up to your Class-A.. Just a thought, i hope it works out for you! I don't know why so many companies are eerie about hiring females, some of the best (and safest) drivers out there are women.

    I can't afford Stevens at $6,000, when I already spent that much at Roadmaster. They haven't started asking for payments yet, but I'm sure they will. I haven't had a paycheck since the end of May, so I can't really afford to dig my hole that much deeper.

    I've already checked in to the Class B; I don't have a truck to test in for that, and all the companies I've checked in to only take teams. I don't have anybody to team with. I would be ecstatic to get my B and drive Expedited. It has been suggested renting a Straight Truck with Air Brakes, but I can't find any place that will rent them. Everything I can find is Standard Brakes, non-CDL rentals. If you have any suggestions, I'd certainly appreciate them.

    First Roadmaster should let you comeback as much as you need to to pass the test. And don't worry about paying them yet. Did you get student loans for it??? If your friend can work enough with you to pass the tests and let you use his truck to take that would help, if not you can rent one. Also try PAM they have trainers and do the roadmaster thing. They are just as good or bad as anyplace else you have dealt with. Call them. You just need a year under your belt to really find a good company.Don't use the excuse or let them use the excuse of you are female. There are a lot of us out here and some of us have been driving for a long time and look prettier doing it too!!!
