Then the cops show up and remove you from the truck. You go to jail and the truck is towed.

 

If the police want you to get out of the truck so it can be towed then you follow their instructions. Do not leave the truck when instructed by a booter. Especially when they want thousands of dollars to take it off. It's extortion. Plain and simple.

And to those saying to change the tire, you do realize the boot makers realized that little problem and that's why the boots cover the lugs.

There really should be some regulatory protection against excessive measures like this, disrupting the free flow of interstate Commerce.

 

I can’t incite or promote violence, but where I come from these kind of tactics would warrant a back alley meeting at some point with these two characters. Stealing is all they’re doing. And to do it from an old lady? That’s just crossing the line.

Every once in awhile I go to Youtube and punch in "tow truck scams" and there is a never ending supply of victims and the people who prey on them.
