What’s to stop the broker from giving a kick back to the shipper to falsify the info?

I know it's a huge "no no", but a few times a shipper scoffed at me when I came to load their freight.. It was because they thought I was charging an absurd rate to move their emergency load..

Well when I showed them what I was really getting paid, they were pissed at what the broker was pocketing!! Only did it twice, & guess who calls me when then need something moved now.. LoL

Back solicit the scum brokers, & maybe we can weed them out.. 2 wrongs sometimes make it right.. :D

That's why you make it a federal document. Penalties.

How about we regulate brokers like we regulate mortgage loan officers?

maybe that will straighten out the issue?

Another idea I haven’t seen maybe it was discussed is shifting the responsibility of cargo insurance to the shipper, this would I believe make the shippers a little picky who they want as a carrier for their products.

Plain and simple people don’t say no. My step decks been in the driveway. Besides 2 really good loads I’ve done in the last month for a broker that knew I’d get the load done no problem. Other then that the problem is desperate, broke, stupid, owner operators and fleets. Go on you tube, any broker can go on there and see how ####ing stupid the people we share this industry with are. Why give me $5 a mile when some idiot will blow up the phones for $1.75 a mile. It’s a sad ####ing business we are in. Most these guys are in a race to the bottom. I will not compete. I will adapt and do other things to stay rolling that fit the money I like and want to make. Let these clowns go to the northeast for $2 a mile then see them coming back with $1.25 mile loads of wood or sitting in a truck stop for days. Anyone that cries brokers should be limited to what they make should go lease to someone that will give them steady freight. I doubt most these guys saying that never been thru these types of times. If you make it though you will only become smarter. I plan to make it.

You know, you can sneer and quip all you want, I think it'd be equitable and transparent. I'm at least trying to envision something different that would at least be SOMETHING.

You have all these reasons that this current broken system works, but it doesn't. There's a reason all these tech companies have been looking at trucking: they see a system that is rigged, and they want to rig it even better until they're the only games in town.

If you don't know the size of the pie, how do you know what your slice represents?

A slippery slope indeed. Its just another click of the ratchet strap to socialism.

Never trust a boa constrictor to let you catch your breath.
