Any good companies near Winchester VA

Doesn't Budweiser have a plant down that way right along I-81? Distribution sector maybe?

 

The only one I know of is in Williamsburg Va, about 45 minutes out of Richmond on I 64.

 

Winchester Va is really in a good location as far as traffic lanes go. Just a short distance from Pittsburgh & Harrisburg Pa. Not that far from Roanoke VA. That crossing of the PA Turnpike and I 81 is loaded with carriers and private haulers. The crossing of I 81 and I 70 is close too. Lots of freight going east-west on I 70. Honestly, I think @Chinatown has just touched the surface of what is available within a 200 to 400-mile radius of Northern Virginia. In fact, I came VERY close to settling in Winchester when I retired from driving for that very reason.

 

I enjoy west virginia myself and there is so much trucking you can shake a stick at. The problem is that everyone there can drive so.. they only take so many.

The closer you get to DC you run into people who are not necessarily very friendly or accomodating as employers. They have noses in the almighty wallet seeking out that big payday. And somewhat discriminatory too from my experience. Ive had many oppertunities in the south and western states that are never going to happen on the east. Just as well, I made a home here.

To contirbute to the topic of employes in VA, I offer whitehouse cider. Its very heavy glass jars on the floor to small wood most of the time, but if you have the spine for it you will find people are unwilling to stop drinking that good cider in these hard times. They are in Winchester.
