After a battle that is long enough Humans need a place to clear the air and lose the accumulated steam so to speak. If they closed everything and you sit staring at 4 walls, then mental issues come in.
America is not meant to be closed and we are at the point now that it needs to reopen based on the Sweden model remembering that no matter how many die we go along well enough overall in the end after gaining the necessary immunity and so on. Im sorry we lost 50,000. Every one is special and to be remembered. But we need to go forward and get through this back to normal whatever that might be.rickyboricky, nredfor88 and rachi Thank this. -
on the one hand, many people hold up signs saying "thank you"
and on the other hand, some hold up signs saying, "GTF out of here"
the American trucker will never be fully liked or appreciated. (and it'll never go back the the early days of trucking when we really were respected)
ever wonder why anyone thinks this is all worth it? and leave the industry for a better lifestyle?
one minute you are praised, the next you are slapped across the face, and go find someplace else.WildTiger1990, nredfor88, TheLoadOut and 1 other person Thank this. -

At least they're still talking about us (on page 12 of some paper nobody reads) I'm getting a little nutty with all the distancing though I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near suicidal.
The stress is when I think, "nah, it can't be like this forever." Some people are saying it will be.
Rest areas (that are open) look like a Stanley Kubrick film. -
Well I’ve noticed a pattern in my year 1.75 years of truck driving. You don’t have to like me. I’ll just laugh, shrug it off and move on. Maybe a sarcastic smile. But if someone, like a shipper or receiver or four wheeler or whoever else I might encounter out there goes out of their way to disrespect me, I don’t tolerate that. And neither should any of you. I see so many truck drivers out there just taking a boot up the rear and being treated worse then a red headed step child. It irks me. If you disrespect me, you will not get any respect back. I guarantee you that. I’ve almost gotten myself into a few situations out there at shippers who literally went out of their way to be jerks. I’ll say something and won’t stand for it.
truck driving is my job, I’m still a person and if they can’t treat me as such, DO NOT EXPECT IT IN RETURN. And do not ever expect me to lick your boot because I drive a truck!Cowboyrich Thanks this.
